Salesforce.com is seeking a talented QA Manager who will be responsible for leading a high-performance feature driven IT Quality Engineering team. You must have a proven track record of success building, leading and managing a functional and technical team with a strong sense of quality ownership. This is a hands-on job that requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the entire QA lifecycle, ensuring the success of you and your team's manual and automation efforts. You will work with a team of demanding, highly motivated QA engineers and developers and will be expected to both challenge and be challenged. This position requires healthy doses of initiative and the ability to remain flexible and responsive in a very dynamic environment. In order to effectively manage this team, you must have superior leadership skills, a solid background using object oriented methodologies, expertise in white/black box testing methodologies, extensive experience and knowledge of standard quality and development tools and the agility to operate within short release cycles. You must have strong experience driving tactical and strategic objectives in an assertive, fast-growing, mission-critical Quality Engineering organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop expertise in the product areas owned by your team, and use that expertise to advocate on behalf of the customers.
  • Develop, improve and mature the team's tools, processes, standards, best practices and skill base.
  • Ensure that test planning, execution, and reporting is effective, efficient, standardized, coordinated, and integrated.
  • Create and foster an environment conducive to innovation, high productivity and high quality.
  • Grow the team by recruiting world-class technical talent and leadership
  • Management of objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, risk and performance management of the team.


Required Skills/Experience:
  • 5- 10 years of demonstrated technical excellence in fast paced, rapidly growing technology organizations with min. of 5 yrs in QA management role
  • Strong track record for delivering high quality successful products on time and within budget
  • xperience managing complex projects either with virtual team members from multiple organizations and /or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Expert at SQA methodologies, tools and approaches (black box, white box and automated testing experience)
  • Strong technical skills including programming, database and OS, with the ability to manage the team's automation testing efforts
  • Agile, proactive, ability to adapt to rapid changes in product direction.
  • Experience building, training and retaining a sizeable quality organization
  • Experience in delivering engineering applications using agile/scrum and/or waterfall methodology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as receptive listening skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
  • Experience in hosted/SaaS/Cloud Computing services.
  • Technical Degree: MS or BS in CS or EE with experience is preferred.


Desired Skills:
  • Experience with J2EE Technologies (e.g. JSP, Servlets, EJB, WebServices, SOA)
  • Familiar with clustering technologies
  • Familiar with Open Source Automation Frameworks
