1% equity. Sharing the wealth.

What’s more fun than writing a check to a terrific nonprofit? The equity portion of our 1% model takes the form of grants, funded by an initial 1% of salesforce.com’s pre-IPO stock. To serve the needs of our communities and our interests, we disperse these funds via several distinct grants, like these from our list of 2009 grant types:

Community Action Team grants

These grants, which are awarded based on employee-submitted proposals, fund activities that provide an opportunity for ongoing employee involvement or group volunteerism.

Turn It Up grants

Nonprofits currently using Salesforce CRM are eligible for these grants, which fund customizations that will provide measurable benefits to the organization and other nonprofits.

Dollars for Doers

For every 10 hours that an employee volunteers with a nonprofit, the Foundation will grant $100 to that organization (with an annual maximum of $500 per employee).

Matching gifts

Employees donating funds to qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations are eligible for matching funds from the Foundation, up to $500 per employee, per fiscal year.

BizAcademy

To support our global BizAcademy entrepreneurial training program, the Foundation provides grants to the organizations working with the youth who participate in the program.
