Sforce removes the integration and customization limitations associated with other ASPs
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - August 25, 2003 - Salesforce.com®, the world leader in delivering software-as-service, today announced that Globix Corporation, a leading provider of managed infrastructure services for business customers, has used sforce to rapidly integrate salesforce.com S3 Enterprise Edition with an internal ERP system, as well as with Remedy (NASDAQ: REMX) A/R software linked to an Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) database. Using sforce, the salesforce.com client/service application platform, which is included with salesforce.com S3 at no additional charge, Globix rapidly integrated these systems to easily and effectively manage critical information organization-wide. The Web services-based integration has dramatically improved advanced business processes, allowing for simultaneous management of employee tasks, automatic update of all systems via the Globix online customer portal, and near total automation of the sales quotation process.
"We needed a solution that could share customer and sales information with our existing internal systems and business processes, without the time and expense typically involved with CRM integration," said Henry Holcombe, Chief Technology Officer at Globix. "With sforce and salesforce.com S3, it was easy to use our existing infrastructure and skills to complete the entire integration - from design to deployment - in less than three months. Salesforce.com S3 has become invaluable to our operations."
With offices in New York, California, and London, Globix wanted a single, integrated CRM system for its global sales force and chose salesforce.com S3 with sforce to support its end-to-end business processes. Using in-house resources along with guidance from salesforce.com's Professional Services team, Globix completed the integration project at a fraction of the cost, and with none of the risk, of conventional software integration projects. In addition to having a significant impact on the company's overall efficiency and on the accuracy of forecasts and other key data, the integrated system has helped Globix improve customer service. Executives can now generate additional contract revenue by quickly alerting the sales team to up-sell opportunities, and they can also better track marketing campaigns and quantify return on investment in a timely manner.
"The sforce platform drives results for business-critical vendors like Globix, using a fraction of the time and resources involved in typical software integration and development projects," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "Sforce liberates users from the limitations usually associated with ASPs, making integration and customization not only possible, but quick and painless."
