On the AppExchange, we've put the Search Apps bar on just about every page, so you can search for apps whenever you like. You can comb through all the apps listed on the site or zero in on an area of interest by choosing a category from the drop-down list.

Once your search is completed, you can make a selection or narrow the results with just a click or two.

Sort Your Results

To determine the order in which apps appear on the list, use the Sort by drop-down list to choose the option that most closely meets your criteria. You can sort by these handy criteria:

• Number of Installs
• App Name
• Rating
• Release Date
• Publisher

Filter Your View

Using a filter to screen results for your Salesforce edition and preferences is another quick way of finding the perfect app to Test Drive. To select your filters, go to the My Filters box at the top right of the page and click Change to change and set your search and browse filters.

When the My Filters box opens, set your search and browse filters. Filtering by the Salesforce edition that applies to you can be a major time saver. With the filter set, you'll see only the apps that have been developed to work with the Salesforce edition you subscribe to.

The filter choices you set will be applied to any searches you do as well as any categories you browse. These filters will remain active until you clear or change them.

Find an app that interests you? Click the Add to My Saved Apps link to save it to your My Saved Apps box. This box will hold your saved apps until you delete them. There's no need to search twice for an app.

When you browse the AppExchange you'll see all the apps in the categories and subcategories where they reside. You may also come across a useful app you weren't even looking for.

The quickest way to get going is to use the Browse Apps left nav pane. Click a category to go directly to that list of apps or mouse over the category names in the pane to see the subcategories you can click through to.

While browsing, you'll be able to sort and filter just as you can when using the search bar.

• Top 10 Installs: The most popular apps on the site based on the latest install metrics.
• AppExchange Essentials: Perfect for those who want to know what a "Swiss army knife" deployment of Salesforce looks like. These apps were selected by our in-house experts who swear by them.

All of these tools are aimed at getting you to the app you need as quickly as possible. Because the less time you spend looking for an app, the more time you have to take advantage of what it can do for you.
