Installing Apps From the AppExchange



When you're ready to install, click the Get It Now button for the app you've chosen. You will:

  1. Log in using the username and password for the Salesforce instance where you'd like to install the app.
  2. Follow the built-in wizard in Salesforce to complete the installation.

You'll have a chance to inspect the app's component list and check any links to external services to ensure they connect to trusted sites. For additional information on security issues, visit the AppExchange FAQ.

Note: To install an AppExchange app, you must be a Salesforce administrator with the proper permission — Download AppExchange Packages. You can enable this permission via a checkbox in your Salesforce user profile.

 
Other Ways to Get What You Need

We offer more than just self-contained on-demand apps. Depending on the AppExchange listing you choose, there may be a few additional steps before you get up and running. If you select a client app or a hardware appliance, for example, you may need to click:

  • Download to install software that runs outside Salesforce on your desktop or mobile device.
  • Learn More to complete a contact form and find out about buying goods or services through a sales rep.
Bringing It Home

After you've installed an app, it remains hidden from your users until you deploy it to your organization. You can take as much time as you like to customize and test it before you make it available to a wider audience.

Once your new app is in the hands of your Salesforce users, you'll begin to gain a real appreciation for what it can do.
