SIRVA Uses Salesforce and the Force.com AppExchange to Move Ahead
SIRVA conducts more than 300,000 relocations every year, transferring corporate and government
employees, and moving individual consumers. With operations in more than 40 countries and an
extensive network of agents and other service providers in over 175 countries, a unified customer
view was essential in coordinating its businesses. The company chose Salesforce to tie divisions
together and bolster productivity.
At SIRVA, managers turn to the Force.com AppExchange on-demand marketplace when they want to
add applications to help solve to new problems. Brian Richards, vice president of client technology
at SIRVA, visits the AppExchange each month to look for new tools and apps to extend Salesforce.
It is easy to test drive and install new SaaS applications from the AppExchange. With just a
few clicks, administrators can make any new application available to all of their Salesforce users.
Using solutions from the AppExchange, SIRVA supports processes as diverse as email marketing, data
cleansing, and class enrollment.

In just a week, Richards installed the application, made modifications, and deployed the app to his entire training team. Management now has visibility into all of the training that is offered across the globe, and can view by training center or functional are. The data provides useful metrics for SIRVA sales and marketing. According to Richards, the Class Enrollment application has been highly effective and has saved it hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The company installed ExactTarget for AppExchange. The tool allows users to view real-time tracking information including open, bounce, and click-through at both the lead and contact level, as well as at an aggregate level.
As a result, SIRVA has campaign management “down to a science.” The company can extract the right set of customer data and focus marketing efforts accordingly. “We love this tool,” says Richards.
Marketsync’s On-Demand Marketing tool lets SIRVA send thousands of one-to-one marketing pieces or collateral packages through Salesforce directly to clients. In fact, Marketsync now handles all of the warehousing for SIRVA’s collateral. SIRVA employees can select the collateral they want to send to clients right from Salesforce, and even set a price limit as to how much they are willing to spend on collateral for a certain customer. “It’s a great combination of an application and a real service offering,” comments Richards. “It’s a great, great tool.”
