Challenge 
United Way of America had a large set of custom Java applications that transferred data from Salesforce to its local SQL database.  Managing all of this custom code was a time consuming process.

Solution
Built to work with salesforce.com’s on-demand system, Bluewolf ESI seamlessly integrates Salesforce with Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, and mySQL systems. ESI eliminates the need to develop any code, and has a GUI-based configuration that makes it easy to use and manage. With ESI, administrators can easily create integration jobs; and access critical reports, feedback, and dashboards directly from Salesforce.

Result
United Way of America configured 10 objects to talk bi-directionally through ESI in a month.  The integration tool has reduced by 25 percent the time United Way spends trouble shooting and debugging.  Also, the new system is now more widely adopted by individuals in the nonprofit’s IT department.

Challenge
United Way of America wanted a way to track fundraising and membership fees through their different stages.

Solution
The Sales KPI Dashboard by Salesforce Labs contains graphs that help users determine the efficiency of their operational business. Different components aggregate relevant performance figures, enabling managers to take corrective action where appropriate.

Result
Several teams at United Way of America customized this dashboard to reflect the nuances of their resource development and membership fees collection efforts.  Management now has an aggregate view of all fundraising and membership fees activity.
