Challenge 
Yamaha holds several events where it needs to customize an invitation based on a customer’s loyalty and purchasing history.  For example, if a customer hits a certain threshold of business, Yamaha will want to give that customer more tickets to a particular event.

Solution
VerticalResponse for AppExchange provides self-service e-mail & direct mail solutions. Users  can create custom mailing lists of any size, design professional sales and marketing campaigns, and track post-launch statistics.

Yamaha uses Vertical Response together with Clicktools, an application that enables users to create and update Salesforce information with their own own custom forms, surveys, and landing pages.

Result
Using Vertical Response and Clicktools, Yamaha can query its customer base and partner community for some basic information and then automatically generate an e-mail based on responses.  Yamaha can now deliver more targeted e-mails to its audience and reward those partners and customers who are doing the most business with them.  Also, its content management team can easily track how frequently particular customer groups are receiving emails using Vertical Response’s tracking metrics.
