Salesforce.com Promotes Matt Loop to Vice President, Corporate Sales to Drive Customer Success in Australia and New Zealand

SYDNEY, Australia, 4 November 2008 – Salesforce.com, the market and technology leader in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), has promoted Matt Loop to the role of Vice President, Corporate Sales, Australia and New Zealand as part of the company’s focus on driving customer success in the small and medium-sized business markets.

Reporting directly to Aaron Katz, Area Vice President, Corporate Sales, Loop will be responsible for the ongoing growth of salesforce.com’s Small to Medium Business (SMB) and mid-market customer-base in Australia and New Zealand. Salesforce.com’s business strategy is focused on delivering tangible business success to its customers and Loop’s performance in driving this strategy is the primary reason for Loop’s promotion.

“In the last twelve months, there has been a radical shift in the attitude of SMBs and mid-market organisations towards Software as a Service (SaaS). Businesses in Australia and New Zealand are fed up with spending a significant chunk of their IT budget on maintenance and upgrade costs associated with on-premise software,” said Loop.

“SMBs need to get maximum results from their IT spend and Software as a Service helps them achieve this. SaaS is fast to install, fully customisable, easy to use and lowers up front costs. We have been getting a very strong response from the SMB market and will keep working hard to ensure customer success for the business segment,” said Loop.

Loop was one of the founding members of the salesforce.com team in Australia and New Zealand. During his five years with the business as Sales Manager and Senior Account Executive he has played a key role in developing and executing the business strategy which has underpinned the company’s growth in the region.

“Matt is a pivotal part of the local business. His promotion to the role of Vice President reflects his deep understanding of the issues facing local SMBs and mid-sized businesses,” commented Jim Steele, President, International Operations, salesforce.com.

Prior to joining salesforce.com, Loop held sales roles in a range of Fortune 1000 companies in both the hardware and software sectors.

Loop has a BA in Organisational Business from the University of California, Berkeley.
