Challenge

  • Consolidating industry platform data and matching it against company records is a challenge that all fund managers face
  • While Ironbark Asset Management (‘Ironbark’) had access to information on fund activity through platform reporting, it was disjointed and difficult to consolidate
  • Monthly reporting was complicated and time consuming
  • Substantially reducing the efforts that go towards locating Funds Under Advice (FUA) and fund flows was a key objective for the new system
 

Solution

  • Salesforce introduced Ironbark to SaaS consultancy Arxxus to carry out a health check
  • Initially focused on Sales Force Automation (SFA), Arxxus saw greater potential for Salesforce CRM as a business platform for tracking fund information as well as sales efforts
  • Arxxus deployed their Platform Insight App for monitoring sales activity and leveraged the Custom Cloud for transitioning Ironbark’s sales support processes onto a central web platform
  • The flexibility and intuitiveness of Salesforce allows Ironbark to track multiple sale streams and undertake complex data analysis
 

Results

  • Ironbark now has access to a holistic view of its distribution channel, with a greater understanding of where its revenue is coming from and which markets yield the best results
  • Tracking sales through a complex cycle allows Ironbark to set meaningful KPIs, remunerate top sales performers adequately and evaluate individual financial planners
  • Reporting time has now been reduced significantly
  • Salesforce has helped alleviate the challenges that fund managers typically face in managing their information
