Appointment signals expansion of salesforce.com professional service offerings for on-demand CRM design, implementation and deployment
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - December 8, 2003 - Salesforce.com, the world leader in delivering on-demand applications, today announced that Bruce Culbert has joined the company's executive team as senior vice president and general manager of global services. Culbert joins salesforce.com from BearingPoint (NYSE: BE), one of the world's largest business consulting, systems integration and managed services firms, where he was senior vice president and CRM global solutions leader.
Named by CRM Magazine as "one of the 20 most influential people in CRM" in 2002, Culbert has more than 20 years experience delivering information technology solutions and fostering global services business. Effective immediately, Culbert is responsible for expanding salesforce.com's professional services offerings as well as cultivating and managing relationships with consulting services and integration partners worldwide.
"Salesforce.com is the future of business computing. On-demand applications that are easy to use and affordable are what the industry has been waiting for," said Culbert. "Most of the market for CRM solutions is still untapped because of the typically large capital and support expense associated with enterprise CRM software. Salesforce.com removes this huge obstacle so our clients can spend their time and money focusing on their customers, not their business systems. The world-class CRM application services that salesforce.com delivers today are just the tip of the iceberg. Innovations such as the sforce on-demand application server and the use of Web services allow our partners and customer unprecedented ease and flexibility in integrating and customizing business services and solutions. I am excited to be joining this terrific team and look forward to working with our customers, partners and employees to continue our momentum in the market and shape the next generation of business solutions."
Since February 2001, Culbert has been BearingPoint's Global Solutions leader for Supply Chain and CRM Solutions. His responsibilities included strategic direction, worldwide bookings, revenue and profitability, along with global solution development and investment. During his tenure as CRM leader, BearingPoint's CRM practice expanded market share and was consistently rated as a market leader for enterprise CRM service. Prior to his work with BearingPoint, Culbert was a 17-year veteran at IBM where he was at the forefront of the e-business revolution as vice president of e-business services. He grew the division to be the largest end-to-end e-business solution provider in the United States. He has been called an "e-Commerce visionary" by Forrester Research, and has been recognized as being at the forefront of interactive and Internet business solutions for the past decade.
"Bruce Culbert has a proven track record of cultivating global services business and creating industry leading strategies and practices," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "I am thrilled to have him join our leadership team during this time of rapid growth and customer adoption. We look forward to harnessing his energy, intellect, experience and relationships to establish salesforce.com as a premier provider of professional services worldwide focused on helping our customers and partners achieve CRM business success."
