Millipore Integrates Salesforce SFA with Oracle On-Premise Applications using Salesforce.com AppExchange Platform for 500 users Worldwide

Developed a number of custom applications using the AppExchange to optimize sales and operations

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — April 3, 2006 — Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the technology and market leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that Millipore [NYSE: MIL], a leading provider of products and services that improve productivity in the laboratory and in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, has implemented Salesforce SFA and is integrating data from its Oracle ERP applications directly into Salesforce SFA, in order to provide its global users fast and easy access to lead and customer information.

Millipore is one of the 20,500 companies of all sizes, industries and geographies that comprised the salesforce.com customer base as of January 31, 2006. Revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is delivered.

Using the AppExchange platform, Millipore has built a custom solution to retrieve data from its Oracle on premise application and automatically assign the information by division to the appropriate sales representative, and then publish the data via Salesforce SFA. In addition to sales, Millipore's technical service groups use the information for service and support as they assist customers with troubleshooting or recommend additional products that might be of interest.

"Team selling is one of our key advantages at Millipore, and Salesforce enables us to share information and collaborate in ways no other solution could offer," said Bridget Reiss, vice president of IT at Millipore. "We have received feedback from the sales teams that the application is extremely intuitive and easy to use. We have also been able to customize Salesforce to suit our specific structure and needs and we have achieved 100% adoption in the U.S. and Europe."

Using the AppExchange platform, Millipore developed a number of custom applications to optimize sales and operations, including:

  • Data Integration — allows data to be automatically shared between Oracle and Salesforce applications and assigned to the appropriate representative, so Salesforce users have a single source for prospect and customer information
  • Collateral Orders — provides global sales teams the ability to quickly and easily order sales materials for regional delivery
