Ryder Wins 2008 Nucleus Research ROI Award with Salesforce.com

Ryder uses Salesforce CRM and Force.com AppExchange to increase its pipeline and retention rates

SAN FRANCISCO - October 17, 2008 - Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the market and technology leader in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), today announced that Nucleus Research has awarded Ryder System, Inc.'s, Supply Chain Solutions division a prestigious 2008 ROI Award for its use of Salesforce CRM and applications from the Force.com AppExchange.  The award recognizes companies whose skillful deployment of IT solutions has produced a positive, bottom-line financial return on investment.  Using Salesforce CRM, Ryder increased its sales pipeline significantly and dramatically improved its contract retention rates.

"Ryder is honored to receive this Nucleus ROI Award for the tremendous ROI we've received with salesforce.com," said Hernan Vera, group director of supply chain solutions marketing at Ryder.  "We were able to implement Salesforce CRM in just 30 days and, with the Force.com AppExchange, we added functionally to meet all cross-departmental needs.  Salesforce has helped us be more agile, more profitable and more competitive - making us winners in many ways."

Using Salesforce CRM, Ryder was able to combine its disparate silos of data to consolidate customer, prospect, and pipeline data, ensuring everyone in the company had access to timely and accurate information.  With a common source of information and a true 360-degree view of the customer, the company has seen a dramatic increase in productivity across sales, marketing and service.  Ultimately, Salesforce CRM became the most complete source of customer information at Ryder, facilitating the development of the company's first global pipeline.

"Ryder is a good example of how IT investments closely aligned to business goals can deliver significant ROI.  Using Salesforce CRM, the company was able to reap significant operational improvements and ultimately drive higher revenues," said Rebecca Wettemann, VP of Research at Nucleus Research.

Companies that receive the Technology ROI Award demonstrate the link between IT strategy and business goals.  The implementation of the salesforce.com solution resulted in a 5158 percent ROI as determined by Nucleus Research.
