Salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff to Speak at GigaOm Net:Work 2010
Benioff to discuss how cloud, social and mobile technologies are changing the way people communicate, collaborate and innovate at work
SAN FRANCISCO – Dec. 8 2010 - Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the enterprise cloud computing (http://www.salesforce.com/cloudcomputing/) company, today announced chairman and CEO Marc Benioff will speak at GigaOm’s Net:Work 2010 on Dec. 9, 2010 at 11:40 am PST at Mission Bay Conference Center, San Francisco. Benioff will be interviewed by Victoria Barret of Forbes in a fireside chat on how cloud, social and mobile trends are changing the workplace.
Since becoming generally available six months ago, more than 60,000 companies have deployed Salesforce Chatter. The breakthrough technology has allowed salesforce.com to expand beyond sales organizations, and bring a new wave of collaboration to employees across the enterprise. Companies like Dell and Reed Exhibition have already rolled out Chatter enterprise-wide.
Chatter is the industry’s first enterprise social collaboration app and platform. Leveraging the social features popularized by Facebook and Twitter -- such as profiles, status updates and real-time feeds -- Chatter lets employees “follow” documents, people, business processes and application data. Net:Work 2010 will assemble GigaOm editors and research analysts, top business leaders and technology companies, such as Amazon, Cisco, Google and Skype, to explore the challenges and opportunities presented by a new culture of work.
