Configuration Overview


After making and documenting your decisions about the goals, processes, and reports for your Salesforce CRM project, it's time to set up your basic company information in the system. These settings include:

  • Company Profile - Verifies your date display and language
  • Fiscal Year definition - Defines your basic reporting period. This definition is part of the Company Profile
  • User Profiles - A set of permissions that can be applied to particular users
  • Data Access - Known as Organization-Wide Settings, these settings define basic access permissions at the file access level
  • Role Hierarchy - Defines how data rolls up in reports and which roles can see and report on the data of other roles
