Responsibilities:
- Ensure best in class sourcing capabilities for services (HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales and Support, Professional Services), Facilities, Software and Technology (Technical Operations, IT, Development, QA, Test), Business Process Outsourcing, Infrastructure, and Data Centers.
- Define a global sourcing strategy which yields measurable year-over-year reduction in cost of purchased goods and services.
- Develop strong working relationships with senior executives and with key suppliers in support of Procurement and cost-management initiatives. Establish long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness. Conduct timely reviews with suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and performance expectations.
- Develop Procurement strategies and polices, linking strategic plans to the company-wide vision and growth plan, and prioritizing organization-wide efforts to implement strategies.
- Lead executive management thinking in sourcing best practices and trends, lead benchmarking efforts and provide leadership implementing improvements in our cost structure.
- Successfully deploy enterprise-wide systems and process solutions to accomplish departmental goals. Measure adherence to these systems and processes and make required adjustments to raise compliance level
- Enforce procurement policies and manage critical issues arising from procurement initiatives. Respond to internal and external auditors on procurement matters, including on SOX-related issues.
- Build, train and mentor a high performing team of Procurement professionals and lead, integrate and manage the activities of global and regional sourcing professionals worldwide.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in an engineering or business-related area of study. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of successful executive-level experience leading Procurement functions in multinational technology-based businesses.
- Experience successfully managing a centralized global function within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
- Prior experience in defining requirements for and implementing procurement processes, technology and systems.
- An ability to clearly articulate the 21st century best-practices procurement organization and how it is to be achieved.
- Expert knowledge of Procurement best practices, e-sourcing tools and technologies.
- Strong focus on planning and effective change management.
- Demonstrated top-down leadership with bottom-up team building and definable motivation skills combined with strong financial and analytical skills.
- Skilled in all Procurement process disciplines including spend category management, negotiations, supplier selection and supplier value management, contract benefits capture, procure-to-pay processes and acquisition integration.
- A proven track record of exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to adhere to highest ethical standards.
- Hire, develop, and retain outstanding individuals for the organization.
