This role will manage a team that’s responsible for developing the strategy and insight to enable salesforce.com to optimize its marketing programs across channels, geographies, segments and products. This includes the development and testing/execution of a wide range of marketing strategies (e.g., customer and prospect segmentation, nurturing campaigns, campaign sequencing) with a strong focus on analytics and actionable results. This role will collaborate closely with other Salesforce.com employees within sales, marketing, product marketing, and business operations to develop and execute marketing strategies for the company.

Develop strategies across a wide range of initiatives to enable optimization of marketing mix globally. Manage the delivery of supporting research and analysis with actionable recommendations and a plan to execute. Collaborate with appropriate groups across the company to implement solutions and drive quantifiable impact. Become the evangelist for findings with sales, operations, marketing to promote action and measurable results.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide the Salesforce.com CMO with the insight to understand the effectiveness of every dollar spent on pipeline generation, pipeline maturation, and branding/awareness activities
  • Manage the development of strategies and recommendations to optimize marketing mix and response-to-opportunity qualification process globally
  • Work with internal and external resources to develop predictive models to address lead scoring, campaign sequencing, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing and Sales Operations to develop pipeline generation goals by region, market segment, and product
  • Manage annual and quarterly marketing planning processes based on these pipeline generation goals ensure Marketing supports Sales with sufficient pipeline to meet bookings goals
  • Manage the ongoing development of standardized reports and dashboards using BI tools to provide Regional Marketing VPs with the information required to manage their businesses
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with CMO and Regional Marketing VPs to ensure measured campaign results are integrated into future planning processes


Required Skills/Experience:
  • 10+ years of work experience, ideally in sales/marketing strategy, management consulting, business development
  • Experience managing teams of individual contributors
  • MBA required. Undergraduate degree from a top-tier school preferred
  • Management consulting and strong “analytics to implementation” experience is highly desirable
  • Strong creativity and innovation in discovering actionable results and strategies
  • Excellent quantitative analysis and modeling skills as well as an ability to effectively present and communicate actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up paced environment
