University Recruiting: User Researcher

Description: Salesforce.com is looking for an entry-level User Researcher to join our rapidly growing User Experience team. You will work with Senior User Researchers, UI Designers and Usability Analysts with the goal of creating world-class designs using User-Centered Design methodologies that drive the success of our company and our customers. This will involve such key tasks as discovering innovative and effective ways to engage our global customer base and studying users that rely on interfaces that range from enterprise system administration to handheld and mobile applications. Join the User Experience team and be an integral part of the company that has redefined On-Demand software.

Responsibilities:
    You are responsible for understanding all aspects of our user population so that we may development clean, efficient and useful interface designs that meet our customer needs.
  • Support upfront researcher efforts led by senior researchers across several product lines
  • Assist in the creation of research plans, organize
  • Identify and recruit appropriate customers for research
  • Conduct user studies at customer sites
  • Assist in translating user research into personas
  • Share research findings back to the product teams
  • Coordinate the integration of application usage metrics and usability data
  • Evangelize upfront user research throughout the Research and Development department


Required Skills/Experience:
  • 1- 3 years experience in designing, conducting and analyzing user research
  • Some experience with upfront user research methods and best practices
  • A degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or equivalent preferred
  • Independent self-starter and extremely detail-oriented
  • Strong project management skills
  • Work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Independent self-starter with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with Product Managers, Usability Analysts, UI designers, and others
