Salesforce.com Announces America Online as Enterprise Customer

Agreement Provides America Online's Interactive Marketing Team With salesforce.com Enterprise Edition For Online Management of Advertising and Commerce Partners

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - March 3, 2003 - Salesforce.com®, the market leader in online customer relationship management (CRM), today announced a new agreement with America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive services company, under which America Online will utilize the salesforce.com Enterprise Edition for online management of advertising and commerce partners.

The agreement will provide several hundred sales and marketing professionals across America Online's Interactive Marketing group with advanced contact management capabilities, allowing representatives to leverage customer information across the whole organization. In addition, collaborative account management will provide multiple team members with visibility into all account activity.

With salesforce.com Enterprise Edition, America Online can rapidly deploy a single integrated solution across multiple departments and divisions. Enterprise Edition's flexibility will allow the online leader to customize the CRM application with particular views appropriate to the needs of each unit, and this bolsters usability and data security. America Online also has the ongoing freedom to modify the application to support evolving business practices. Enterprise Edition combines immediate deployment and low total cost of ownership for maximized customer relationship management without the burdens of software ownership.

"We're pleased to add such a distinguished, consumer-centric establishment as America Online to our roster of enterprise customers," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "We believe that companies around the globe should not have to deal with the headaches and hassles of traditional enterprise software, and that positive return on investment for CRM should be attainable within months."

"Salesforce.com is a leader in CRM applications, and we look forward to implementing their Enterprise Edition across our interactive sales organization," said Lon Otremba, executive vice president, Strategic Planning & Operations, AOL Interactive Marketing.

Companies are selecting salesforce.com, driven by frustration with the costs and limitations of traditional software. Given quick success with salesforce.com, usage is growing virally - to more than 6,000 salesforce.com customers and 80,000 users worldwide - as executives switch from enterprise software to online CRM success.
