ALD Automotive Selects Salesforce.com for 1,100 Professionals to Maximize Its Efficiency and Portfolio Management

A subsidiary of Société Générale, Automotive Leasing and Fleet Management Division of leading European financial services group Chooses Salesforce

SAN FRANCISCO — Oct. 11, 2005 — Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the technology and market leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that ALD Automotive, a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Générale, has selected salesforce.com to maximize its efficiency and portfolio management. The operational leasing and fleet management division of this leading European financial services group will deploy Salesforce to 1,100 professionals worldwide. By creating a complete view of its customers and 540,000 vehicles under management, ALD Automotive will focus on efficiently rationalizing sales opportunities within a unified sales culture.

ALD Automotive is a new customer win. This enterprise-wide implementation will be a multi-phased rollout, and revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is actually delivered.

"Salesforce.com's world-class, industry-proven on-demand CRM solution is a cornerstone of ALD Automotive's vision to be Europe's leader in the provision of vehicle funding and management services," said Jean-Claude Renaud, CEO, ALD Automotive. "By standardizing on Salesforce, the company will be uniquely positioned to anticipate and meet the needs of its customers. It will also ensure we provide cost effective, customer-focused management solutions, share sales and marketing best practice, and deliver consistently high levels of service to all of our customers."

With 2,700 staff and a footprint in 26 countries, ALD Automotive is one of the major European fleet management providers. As a subsidiary of Société Générale, the company is part of one of the largest financial services groups in the Euro-zone.

Salesforce will enable ALD Automotive to effectively manage its sales pipeline, collaborate on international sales opportunities and conduct rigorous sales forecasting. Sales teams will also be able to define and administer sales territories, automate many everyday sales processes and manage activities. In addition, Salesforce's powerful, easy-to-use sales dashboards and analytics tools will enable sales teams and management to analyze sales pipelines.

ALD Automotive also plans to take full advantage of the Appforce platform for customization and integration, which were both major reasons for their selection of Salesforce over other alternative CRM solutions.

"We are extremely impressed by Appforce Builder's ability to tailor Salesforce to meet our unique requirements and how Appforce API can seamlessly link it to a vast variety of backend systems," said Maxime Pommereau, ALD Project Manager. "We look forward to taking full advantage of both components and leveraging our salesforce.com solution to its maximum potential."
