Sprint Announces Plans to Implement Salesforce to More Than 5,000 Sales Professionals to Further Enhance Business Customer Experience

Leading provider of wireless and wireline communications equips team with Salesforce Enterprise Edition, a CRM application with industry-leading on-demand architecture and intuitive user experience

SAN FRANCISCO and Reston, Va. — Feb. 22, 2006 — Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the market and technology leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that Sprint (NYSE: S) is using Salesforce Enterprise Edition to provide its entire sales organization a single, easy-to-use solution that provides real-time accessibility to customer and prospect information. This new tool helps the merged sales force achieve high productivity and provide enhanced service to business customers.

"At Sprint, we strive to provide a simple, instant, and productive customer experience, and salesforce.com's industry-proven on-demand CRM solution is an integral part of us attaining that goal," said Mark Angelino, president, Sprint Business Solutions. "It was imperative that we immediately transition all our sales professionals onto a single comprehensive and collaborative CRM system in order to sustain the momentum of the combined company, and Salesforce undoubtedly will help us achieve that."

Easy customization features enabled Sprint to develop advanced prospect management, opportunity management, project change and issue management interfaces and functions to meet the needs of the company's customer-driven organizational structure and processes. Executives have the ability to access accurate visibility into sales activities while sales professionals can effortlessly share important information on leads and prospects through Salesforce.

Prior to its merger with Sprint, Nextel selected Salesforce Enterprise Edition to replace PeopleSoft for its 2,500 sales professionals. The migration process to Salesforce includes customizations, data migration and user training. Within three weeks of deployment to each user group, Nextel achieved over 90% adoption by its Salesforce users, ensuring consistent and complete data. After Sprint and Nextel merged, the new company again selected Salesforce Enterprise Edition as the foundation for its sales organization, presently contracted to add more than 2,900 licenses by the end of August 2006. Product reliability, ease-of-use, and real-time accessibility were priorities as Sprint Nextel sought to avoid transition inefficiencies common to large-company mergers in order to ensure consistent, quality service to customers.
