RadiSys Chooses Salesforce.com for Integrated On-Demand Applications Including CRM, Channel Plans, Compensation Tracking, PR Manager, and Strategic Account Planning

Leading embedded solutions provider leverages AppExchange to merge and share information on demand across multiple applications and to create unique applications tailored to specific business needs

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — March 27, 2005 — Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the technology and market leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that RadiSys Corporation (RadiSys), the leading provider of advanced embedded solutions for the communications networking and commercial systems markets, has selected salesforce.com CRM solutions and is leveraging applications from salesforce.com's AppExchange directory to develop an integrated enterprise-wide solution for its data management and business planning needs. In addition, RadiSys has used AppExchange Builder to customize, create, deploy and manage two new business-critical applications. AppExchange Builder, the customization tool using the AppExchange platform, has enabled RadiSys to dramatically extend the value of its salesforce.com deployment by allowing it to build and run on-demand applications to support its online marketing solutions for a C-level and executive audience as well as engineers, business unit general managers and business development professionals.

AppExchange unites all of RadiSys' on-demand applications — including CRM, Channel Plans, PR Manager, Compensation Tracking, Strategic Account Planning, and Channel Partner Registration with a single data model, single security model and a single user interface. With AppExchange, RadiSys' employees can build, customize, deploy, and share on-demand applications that meet their business needs.

RadiSys is one of the 20,500 companies of all sizes, industries and geographies that comprised the salesforce.com customer base as of January 31, 2006. Revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is delivered.

"With our large global presence, RadiSys needs to implement business applications that are cost-effective, easy-to-use, customizable, and rich in capabilities—all running on a single, secure, reliable platform. Using salesforce.com and the applications from AppExchange, we were easily able to share information on demand, across six different departments and nine countries," said Garrick Baxter, CRM and eMarketing Manager. "From channel relations, public relations, to account planning, salesforce.com and the AppExchange have fulfilled many of our business needs and made RadiSys a more nimble organization with the ability to more quickly and strategically respond to leads, customers, channel partners, and internally."

In addition to salesforce.com CRM, RadiSys is deploying the following applications from the AppExchange directory:

  • Channel Plans - collaboratively creates joint business plans to align targets, expectations, geographic coverage, employee initiatives, and demand generation activities have longer lasting and more profitable relationships.
  • Compensation Tracking - provides visibility, oversight, compliance, and credibility for both commission and points-based incentive plans.
  • PR Manager - tracks the many aspects of public relations efforts and measures their effectiveness against overall corporate marketing goals — all from a single location.
  • Strategic Account Planning - used by sales managers to create and manage account plans and the associated strategies and execution tactics for these plans.
RadiSys has also used AppExchange Builder to create and launch two unique on-demand applications built with the AppExchange platform, including:
  • Channel Partner Registration - registers opportunities from channel partners. Information is automatically uploaded into the application.
  • Sales Trip Reports - tracks specifics of the trips and visits made by sales account executives. Managed details include purpose, costs, location, contacts, and outcome.
"Prior to implementing salesforce.com, RadiSys had 80 percent of leads in a raw stage for over 30 days. Now, we've achieved 100% improvement in the process of contacting and qualifying leads. This is just one example of how salesforce.com and AppExchange applications have helped RadiSys achieve a new level of business efficiency." added Baxter.
