Salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff Named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 National Winner
Benioff honored for leading salesforce.com's innovation and success and his commitment to
redefining corporate philanthropy
SAN FRANCISCO - December 3, 2007 - Salesforce.com [NYSE:
CRM], the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced that Marc
Benioff, chairman and CEO of the company, has been named a 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of
the Year for his leadership and innovation in Technology. Benioff was selected from
approximately 400 regional award recipients by a panel of independent judges for his role in
transforming the way companies purchase, deploy and use business applications, and for
salesforce.com's ongoing commitment to assisting nonprofit organizations through the Salesforce.com
Foundation.
"During the last eight years we have worked tirelessly to bring the power of on-demand
business services to our customers, and to use our successes to give back to our community," said
Benioff. "I'm honored to be chosen as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and to be

Along with the award bestowed to Benioff, Ernst & Young remarked, "the word 'pioneer'
hardly begins to describe Marc Benioff. He leveraged the online architecture popularized by
consumer Internet companies to deliver an entirely new way to deliver the software applications
that companies use to manage their businesses." Ernst & Young also recognized Benioff's
role in developing an innovative philanthropy model by committing 1% of Salesforce.com's equity, 1%
percent of employee work time, and 1% of its product to nonprofit organizations around the world
through the Salesforce.com Foundation.
The Ernst & Young 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year Award is the latest in a series of
accolades given to Marc Benioff for his outstanding vision and accomplishments. Other recent
