Salesforce Has Signed a Definitive Agreement to Acquire MuleSoft

Exciting news! Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire MuleSoft, the provider of one of the world’s leading platforms for building application networks.

More than 1,200 customers in 60 countries around the world—including Coca-Cola, Unilever, Barclays and Mount Sinai—rely on MuleSoft to change and innovate faster, deliver differentiated customer experiences, and increase operational efficiency.

Together, Salesforce and MuleSoft will accelerate our customers’ digital transformations, enabling them to unlock data across legacy systems, cloud apps and devices to make smarter, faster decisions and create highly differentiated, connected customer experiences.

MuleSoft will continue to build toward its vision of the application network with Anypoint Platform, and MuleSoft will power the new Salesforce Integration Cloud, which will enable all enterprises to surface any customer data—regardless of where it resides—to drive deep customer experiences throughout a personalized 1:1 journey.

What does the acquisition mean for MuleSoft’s neutrality?
We recognize that much of the value of MuleSoft comes from its openness and neutrality. Following the completion of the acquisition, MuleSoft will be “MuleSoft, a Salesforce company,” and continue to be led by CEO Greg Schott and build toward its vision for Anypoint Platform. With Anypoint Platform, customers will continue to build application networks that connect any application, data, and device—whether it touches Salesforce or not – making them pluggable and reusable, ultimately enabling business agility. Anypoint Platform will also be part of the Salesforce Integration Cloud.

What is Salesforce Integration Cloud?
The new Salesforce Integration Cloud will include a set of services and tools that make it easy for customers to integrate their applications and deliver intelligent, connected customer experiences across all channels and touchpoints.

How will MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform fit with Salesforce Integration Cloud?
Post-close, Anypoint Platform will be available under the Salesforce Integration Cloud umbrella, which along with other complementary tools will make it easy for customers to surface any data regardless of where it resides to deliver intelligent, connected customer experiences across all channels and touchpoints.

When will the Integration Cloud products be Generally Available?
MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is generally available today, from MuleSoft. Additional Integration Cloud products will be announced later this year.

How will the acquisition benefit Salesforce and MuleSoft partners?

When will the transaction close?
The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2019, ending July 31, 2018.
