Web Site
Resources
“Unlimited Edition gave us the flexibility and resources required to deploy AppExchange solutions that deliver on all the promises of The Business Web™. Now the Force.com platform gives us all the application development power of .NET or J2EE but with no software infrastructure to worry about. We’ve been able to deliver talent management apps with less development time thanks to Force.com.”
Challenge
- Jobscience, a leading developer of recruiting and hiring solutions for the health-care industry and operator of one of the largest health-care job board networks, needed to replace its ineffective ACT! database to automate sales functions and streamline processes companywide
- To get a full view of the business, information had to be gathered from multiple people and functions
- The company could not afford to dedicate IT resources to its CRM solution
- As a Web-based innovator, Jobscience sought a solution that would align with its vision
- Jobscience required a robust on-demand system that could seamlessly integrate with multiple applications and accommodate in-house configurations and customizations
Solution
- After evaluating several possible solutions, including Oracle's Siebel On Demand, SalesLogix, and Microsoft CRM, Jobscience chose Salesforce CRM for its ability to adapt to its business and operate without a dedicated support person; comprehensive service and support capabilities within Salesforce sealed the deal
- In just four days, the company implemented Salesforce Enterprise Edition to its sales group; a subsequent upgrade to Unlimited Edition with Successforce Premier Support enabled limitless application development via the AppExchange
- Inspired by Force.com and the AppExchange directory, Jobscience shifted its corporate structure to run entirely on The Business Web™: the company downloaded and customized more than 30 apps for everything from marketing and product management to HR and finance
- Each department head maintains dashboards to build reports for the CEO, eliminating previous paper-based systems
- The company integrated Salesforce with a hosted version of Microsoft Outlook
- With the help of AppExchange partner application VerticalResponse, the company generates Web-to-lead email marketing campaigns that convert targets into leads
- Jobscience created a recruitment application for the AppExchange called Pass It On
Results
- By jettisoning disparate software applications for one unified Web-based solution, the company streamlined processes and communications companywide
- The Salesforce deployment reduced Jobscience's need for a support staff from 1.5 full-time equivalents to zero
- The company achieved a 360-degree view of the business for improved customer service and more-accurate business assessment and planning
- Future plans to integrate Salesforce Partners will offer greater synchronicity with Jobscience's hospital and health-care partners
- Integration with the software Jobscience sells, also in the plans, will create a system of record for Jobscience's user base
- QuickBooks integration is also on the roadmap for Jobscience
