How does CollabNet use Salesforce?

CollabNet uses Salesforce for sales force automation (SFA) and service and support. We have about 50 sales and services people on Salesforce.

How does Salesforce for Google Apps fit into CollabNet's software-as-a-service strategy?

CollabNet is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, so we’ve totally bought into the SaaS vision. We have the industry's most widely used collaborative platform for software development. Our platform allows geographically dispersed software developers to collaborate around the clock regardless of location. So the way I see it, Salesforce for Google Apps is totally in line with our SaaS mindset.

What did you think when you heard about Salesforce for Google Apps?

When I heard about Salesforce for Google Apps, I was initially surprised. Then I had one of those 'aha!' moments. I can’t think of a better fit than Salesforce and Google Apps. I'm excited because the integration of the two will really change the way people work.

From a strategic perspective, Salesforce for Google Apps is interesting because it opens up some innovative possibilities. For example, employees will want to have business calendars that sync with Salesforce data like sales tasks and marketing campaigns. Salesforce for Google Apps can take us to a new level of communication within the company.

I'm really excited about Salesforce for Google Apps because it can change the way people in my company work. It's such a natural fit to have real-time collaboration and communication applications fully integrated with the Salesforce applications my company uses every day.
