Where is Dreamforce Global Gathering 2009?
Dreamforce ’09 Global Gathering takes place at the Moscone Convention Center (North and South buildings) in downtown San Francisco. You can learn more about the conference venue at: http://www.moscone.com/.
What are the conference dates?
November 17–20, 2009. Dreamforce registration begins Tuesday, November 17 and continues throughout the week. The conference kicks off with Tuesday’s welcome reception and concludes on Friday with the final breakout sessions ending at 12:30 p.m.

Where can I find information on San Francisco?

What is the weather like in San Francisco in November?
Although San Francisco is famous for fog, November generally brings milder weather. The days hover in the 60s (Fahrenheit), but be sure to dress in layers because the weather can be fickle. Please check www.weather.com before you arrive.
How should I make air travel reservations to San Francisco?
Salesforce.com has partnered with major airlines serving the San Francisco Bay Area to secure discounts for Dreamforce attendees traveling to the conference by air. Click the airline links below for additional details and contact information:

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest major airport, and is an easy 25-minute drive from downtown. Alternatively, the Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a 35-minute drive over the Bay Bridge. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) links to both airports, and the Powell Street BART station is just a few short blocks away from the designated hotels and Moscone Center.
How do I arrange ground transportation?

Are there special hotel rates?
There are discounted rates and special offers for Dreamforce attendees at more than two dozen area hotels. The advantages of booking your hotel through us at the same time your register for the conference include:

I’ve already registered for Dreamforce. How can I add a hotel reservation to my registration or make changes to my existing hotel reservation?
You may reserve a hotel room or make changes to your existing hotel reservation through the Dreamforce attendee portal. To access the attendee portal, you will need the username and password you set up when you registered for Dreamforce. Through what date can I book a hotel room with a guaranteed discounted rate?
Dreamforce Registration and Housing will provide rooms at a discounted rate based on hotel availability until October 27, 2009. After this date, rates will be determined by the hotels.
How can I find out where my hotel is located?

What is the hotel room cancellation policy?
If you have booked your reservation at the standard conference rate, cancellations must be made no less than 72 hours prior to arrival. Failure to do so will incur a penalty equal to the cost of one night's room and tax.
What if I do not check in on my scheduled arrival date?
If you do not arrive on your scheduled arrival date, the hotel will cancel your entire reservation and can opt not to reinstate your reservation even if you arrive the next day. You will also be charged the penalty of the cost of one night's room and tax regardless of whether or not the hotel opts to reinstate your reservation.
Can I book my hotel through Dreamforce Registration and Housing in advance of registering for the conference?
Unfortunately, to take advantage of Dreamforce’s discounted room rates, you must be registered for the conference.
Can I make a hotel reservation for second hotel room for family or friends traveling with me?
Yes, you can make a second hotel reservation for family or friends by contacting the Dreamforce Registration and Housing team (Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time at:

At check-in, can I pay the hotel with the same credit card I provided as a guarantee when I reserved the room?
Yes, however if the card used as a guarantee for your hotel reservation is not in your name, the cardholder must be present at check-in or a faxed credit card authorization form must be set up with the hotel prior to your arrival.
Can I contact the hotel directly to make a hotel reservation at Dreamforce's discounted rates or to change my existing reservation?
To obtain Dreamforce's discounted rates, new reservations and changes must be made through Dreamforce Registration and Housing.
Will I receive a hotel confirmation number after booking my hotel through Dreamforce Registration and Housing?
All hotel reservations made through Dreamforce Registration and Housing are confirmed with your unique reference ID. If you would like to obtain a hotel confirmation number, please contact the hotel approximately two weeks prior to the event.
Who do I contact with special requests for my hotel reservation, such as adding my hotel awards program number?

Although hotels do their best at accommodating all special requests, they are not guaranteed. Please note: Non-smoking rooms are guaranteed at 100% smoke-free hotels.
How do I request a room block?
You may request a room block through Dreamforce 2009 Registration and Housing by using this sub-block request form and fax it to (650) 226-0840. This form is due no later than September 15, 2009.
How I will know that my room block is confirmed?
Dreamforce Registration and Housing will send a sub-block hotel confirmation form via email within 7 business days of receipt of your faxed request. The room block is not guaranteed unless your hotel booking code has been assigned.
My hotel booking code is not working when I enter it in the appropriate field. How do I fix this?
Please go back and check to see if you entered in the correct hotel booking code. If your hotel booking code is still not working, please contact the Dreamforce Registration and Housing to walk you through the process.

How do I register?
Please register for Dreamforce using the registration form on our Web site
What is the payment policy?
Dreamforce Registration and Housing accepts several methods of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Diner’s Club, Discover, and American Express. Payment must accompany your registration. Registrations without payment will not be processed.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations received in writing by Dreamforce Registration and Housing before 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, 2009, will receive a full refund for fees paid. Cancellations received after 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, 2009, and before 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, November 13, 2009, will receive a 50% refund for fees paid. Cancellations received after 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, November 13, 2009, will result in a forfeiture of the entire conference fee. Dreamforce Registration and Housing will send a cancellation confirmation to the email address listed on the registration form.
Are attendee substitutions permitted?
If you registered but are unable to attend Dreamforce and cannot cancel your registration, you may substitute another employee from your company at no additional charge. Please send notification of your change via email to registration@dreamforce2009.com no later than 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, November 13, 2009. Please be sure to include the new attendee's name and contact information. You will receive a written confirmation from Dreamforce Registration and Housing once the change has been received and processed.
Can I bring a guest?
Guests will not be permitted to attend any sessions or evening events. but there will be Gala Only passes available later in the summer for purchase through the Attendee Portal.
May I apply more than one discount on registration at a time?
Sorry, registration discounts may not be combined.

What are the expo hours for Expo/Keynote Only passes?
What will I receive as part of an Expo/Keynote Only pass?
You will receive access to the general sessions and Cloud Expo (during limited hours). You will not receive meals or conference materials or access to any of the breakout sessions, networking receptions or gala. If you would like to change your registration to include these activities please visit your attendee portal to upgrade your registration pass.
What are the scheduled events for Dreamforce?

Whom should I contact if I have special dietary needs or allergies?
There is a section on the conference registration form for special requests. Please complete this section upon registering or email Dreamforce Registration and Housing: registration@Dreamforce2009.com.
What is the recommended attire for the conference?
Business attire is appropriate for all conference functions. Meeting room temperatures are cool and the San Francisco climate can vary greatly. We suggest you wear layered clothing for comfort.
Are spouses or children invited to Dreamforce social activities?
Social activities are for Dreamforce attendees only. Spouses and children, under 18 years of age, unfortunately, may not attend. Spouses and guests will be allowed to attend the Gala only and passes will be available for purchase later in the summer through the Attendee Portal.
What is Dreamforce doing to prevent the spread of the H1N1 flu (swine flu) among attendees?
Salesforce.com and the Dreamforce organizers and venues (including Moscone Center and local hotels) are taking all actions advised by the local Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control. This includes making sanitary wipes available, regular cleanings, and staff training. If you're sick with flu-like illness, the CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. Keep away from others as much as possible to keep from making others sick.
