Location and Dates

  • Where is Dreamforce?
    The Dreamforce Campus comprises of multiple venues across San Francisco. This year, the event will take place in Moscone Center and the following hotels:
    Marriott Marquis, InterContinental, The Palace Hotel,
    Hilton Union Square, Grand Hyatt
  • What are the conference dates?
    Tuesday, September 18 – Friday, September 21, 2012.

Registration

  • What is the registration cost of Dreamforce?
    The registration cost depends on how early you register for Dreamforce—the earlier, the better!
  • How do I register?
    Please register for Dreamforce by going to the Register page.
  • I started my registration and didn’t finish. How can I complete my registration?
    Please access the Dreamforce App and enter your email and password credentials you created.
  • I received a priority code. How do I apply it to my registration?
    If you have not yet registered for the Dreamforce, begin your registration and follow the wizard. Once you reach ”My Event Selections” page, insert the code into the “Priority Code” field. Click apply to recalculate your registration, hands-on training and/or certification balance(s).
    If you have already registered, please forward your priority code to our registration team via email at registration@dreamforceSF.com.Please allow up to 48 hours for your request to be processed.
  • What is the payment policy?

    Dreamforce Registration and Housing accepts several methods of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Payment must accompany your registration. Registrations without payment will not be processed.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    All cancellations must be received in writing. Email your cancellation notice to registration@dreamforceSF.com, or fax to +1-650-226-0596.

    • Full refund: Cancellation must be received by 12:00 noon (PST) on Friday, August 17, 2012.
    • 50% refund: Cancellations received after 12:00 noon (PST) on Friday, August 17, 2012 and 12:00 p.m. (PST) on Friday, September 14, 2012.
    • No refunds will be given after 12:00 noon (PST) on Friday, September 14, 2012.
  • Are attendee substitutions permitted?
    If you’re unable to attend Dreamforce, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email registration@dreamforceSF.com with the new attendee's name and contact information by Friday, September 14, 2012. Substitutions will not be granted after this date.
  • If I cancel my registration, can I transfer my hotel reservation to another attendee?
    Hotel reservations made through Dreamforce Registration and Housing are not transferable. The substituting attendee will need to complete his/her hotel reservation through the registration process and submit a new credit card to secure the reservation.
  • Can I bring a guest?
    Guests will not be permitted to attend any Dreamforce breakout sessions. Currently, Global Gala passes are not available for purchase.

  • Where can I find information on San Francisco?

  • What is the weather like in San Francisco in September?
    Although San Francisco is famous for fog, September generally brings milder weather. The days hover in mid-60’s (F). Be sure to dress in layers, though, the weather can be fickle. Please check www.weather.com before you arrive.
  • Which airports are closest to San Francisco?
    San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest major airport, an easy 25-minute drive from downtown. Alternatively, the Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a 35-minute drive over the Bay Bridge.
  • Do any airlines offer discount airfares to San Francisco for Dreamforce?

  • How do I arrange ground transportation?

    There are several options for ground transportation between Bay Area airports and downtown San Francisco. Salesforce.com has partnered with ground transportation providers serving local airports to secure discounts for Dreamforce attendees. See below for details:

    Rental Car Discounts for Dreamforce
    Salesforce.com has partnered with Avis and Budget to secure special discounts and rates for Dreamforce.

    • Low rates with unlimited mileage specifically for Dreamforce attendees.
    • Low Rate Guarantee: if a lower rate is available at time of reservation, a discount of up to 25% will apply on the promotional rate.
    • Special rates and discounts valid one week before and one week after the event.
    • Wide selection of vehicles available, from compacts and hybrids to premium and luxury sedans.

    Taxis: Taxis are also readily available at the San Francisco and Oakland airports, with no advance reservations required.

    Public transit: Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) links to both airports, and the Powell Street BART station is just a few short blocks from the designated hotels and Moscone Center.

  • Are there special hotel rates?

    There are discounted rates and special offers for Dreamforce attendees at 75+ area hotels. There are several advantages to booking your hotel through us at the same time you register for the conference:

    • Special discounts at 75+ hotels (rates starting at $149/night)
    • Guaranteed lowest rates at the official hotels during the conference
    • No prepayment required; no penalty for cancellation up to 5 days prior to your scheduled arrival date

    Please book your hotel through the Dreamforce registration site. There is no fee for booking a discounted hotel room through Dreamforce Registration and Housing.

    I’ve already registered for Dreamforce. How can I add a hotel reservation to my registration or make changes to my existing hotel reservation?
    To add, change, or decline a hotel on an existing registration, please log on to the Dreamforce App and choose ‘My Dreamforce’. Select 'Hotel' in the left navigation. From there, you can make the desired updates to your hotel reservation. To book a hotel reservation or modify/cancel your existing reservation, please contact the Dreamforce Registration and Housing team (Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST) at:

    Dreamforce Registration and Housing will provide rooms at a discounted rate based on hotel availability until August 20, 2012. After this date, rates will be determined by the hotels.

  • How do I book a hotel for Dreamforce?
    Online hotel bookings for Dreamforce must be made during your initial registration. If you wish to add a hotel at a later date, please contact the Dreamforce Registration and Housing team (Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST) at:

  • I’ve already registered for Dreamforce. How can I add a hotel reservation to my registration or make changes to my existing hotel reservation?

    To add, change, or decline a hotel on an existing registration, please log on to the Dreamforce App and choose ‘My Dreamforce’. Select ‘Hotel’ in the left navigation. From there, you can make the desired updates to your hotel reservation.

  • What is the hotel room cancellation policy?
    If you booked a reservation at the standard conference rate, cancellations must be made no fewer than 5 days prior to arrival. Failure to do so will incur a penalty equal to the cost of one night's room and tax.
  • If I cancel my registration, can I transfer my hotel reservation to another attendee?
    Hotel reservations made through Dreamforce registration are not transferable. The substituting attendee will need to complete a hotel reservation through the registration process and submit a new credit card to secure the reservation.
  • What if I don’t check in on my scheduled arrival date?
    If you don’t arrive on your scheduled arrival date, the hotel will cancel your entire reservation and can opt not to reinstate your reservation, even if you arrive the next day. You will also be charged the penalty of the cost of one night's room and tax, regardless of whether or not the hotel opts to reinstate your reservation.
  • Can I make a hotel reservation through Dreamforce Registration and Housing without a credit card to guarantee my reservation?
    No, all hotel reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.
  • Can I make a hotel reservation for a second hotel room for family or friends traveling with me?

    Yes, you can make a second hotel reservation for family or friends by contacting the Dreamforce Registration and Housing team (Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST) at:

  • Can I pay the hotel with a different credit card than the one I provided when I reserved the room?
    Yes. However if the card used as a guarantee for your hotel reservation is not in your name, that cardholder must be present at check-in, or a faxed credit card authorization form must be set up with the hotel prior to your arrival.
  • Can I contact the hotel directly to make a hotel reservation at Dreamforce's discounted rates or to change my existing reservation?
    No. To obtain Dreamforce's discounted rates, new reservations and changes must be made through Dreamforce Registration and Housing.
  • Will I receive a hotel confirmation number after booking my hotel through Dreamforce Registration and Housing?
    No. All hotel reservations made through the registration website is managed by the Dreamforce Housing Team. A final hotel confirmation will be emailed to you 3 weeks prior to the conference confirming your reservation, this does not include a confirmation number. If you would like to obtain a hotel confirmation, please contact the hotel of booking approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.
  • How can I find out where my hotel is located?
    To find the location of your hotel, please view our Interactive Map.
  • Where do I find shuttle route information to get to and from my hotel and the Moscone Convention Center?

  • Whom do I contact with special requests for my hotel reservation, such as adding my hotel awards program number?

    Although hotels do their best to accommodate all special requests, they are not guaranteed. Please note: Non-smoking rooms are only guaranteed at 100% smoke-free hotels.

  • My hotel booking code isn’t working when I enter it in the appropriate field. How do I fix this problem?
    Please go back and check to see if you entered in the correct hotel booking code and select the approved sub-block dates. If your hotel booking code is still not working, please contact Dreamforce Registration and Housing at registration@dreamforceSF.com to walk you through the process.
  • How do I request a visa invitation?

    You can request a visa invitation letter to assist in obtaining your visa to attend Dreamforce. You must register for the conference prior to requesting a visa invitation. Please send an email to registration@dreamforceSF.com and provide the following information:
    First name as listed on passport
    Last name as listed on passport
    Full name as listed on registration
    Country of origin
    Passport number
    Passport expiration date
    Date of birth
    Full address of your local United States embassy/consulate
    Fax number of your local United States embassy/consulate

     

    Please note that by requesting a visa invitation letter, this does not guarantee that your local authorities will grant a visa to attend Dreamforce.

    Dreamforce sessions are organized by themes.     Registered attendees are able to reserve their spot in individual sessions. This benefit will be available beginning in mid-August. Registered attendees will receive email notification at this time.

  • What is the pre-conference hands-on training?
    Want to expand your Salesforce knowledge? Salesforce.com offers additional courses outside Dreamforce to further grow your Salesforce experience. A full list of courses can be found on the Training page on the Dreamforce website, through the registration process, or in the Dreamforce App.
  • How do I register for the pre-conference hands-on training and/or a certification exam?
    To book training online please do this as part of your original registration. If you wish to add training at a later date, please contact the Dreamforce Registration and Housing team (Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST) at:

    If you wish to attend a pre-conference hands-on training course and were notified the course is at capacity, our registration team will contact you if space becomes available.
  • Can I sign up for multiple hands-on courses?
    Yes. Please note the start and end times of your desired courses because they may overlap or take place at separate locations.
  • Can I cancel my hands-on course(s) and/or certification exam?
    Yes. You can complete cancellations through the Dreamforce App or via email to registration@dreamforceSF.com. Cancellations are subject to the standard registration cancellation policy.

  • Whom should I contact if I have special dietary needs or allergies?
    There is a section on the conference registration form for special requests. Please complete this section upon registering or email Dreamforce Registration and Housing at registration@dreamforceSF.com.
  • What is the recommended attire for the conference?
    Business casual attire is suggested for all conference functions. Meeting room temperatures are cool and the San Francisco climate can vary greatly, so we also suggest you wear layered clothing for comfort and flexibility.
  • Are spouses or children invited to Dreamforce social activities?
    Currently, guest passes are not available for purchase. Children under 18 are not eligible to attend the event.
