Former Siebel Systems EMEA General Manager Moves to salesforce.com
Steve Garnett appointed salesforce.com SVP and GM of EMEA, charged with extending influence of software-as-service model
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - July 22, 2003 - Salesforce.com®, the world leader in delivering software-as-service, today announced the addition of Dr. Steve Garnett to the company's executive team as senior vice president and general manager of EMEA. An 18-year veteran of the technology industry, Garnett was most recently head of worldwide alliances at Siebel Systems (NASDAQ: SEBL) and has held a number of executive positions at Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL). Effective immediately, Garnett is charged with extending salesforce.com's presence and market penetration in Europe and reports directly to salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff.

Garnett joined Siebel in 1997 as vice president and general manager EMEA. He served as head of the company's IBM Global Initiative, reporting directly to Thomas Siebel, before assuming leadership of worldwide alliances. Prior to Siebel, Steve held a variety of executive positions at Oracle and was one of the youngest European management team members ever. He holds a PhD in theoretical physics (nuclear engineering) and received his undergraduate degree in mathematics.
