Creating Social Enterprises Based on Salesforce.com Foundation 1/1/1 Model

Challenge

• Static database could be accessed only on one computer based on ACT software
• Setting up meetings over three time zones via emails and staff calendars undermined organization’s effectiveness
• Reliance on numerous, disconnected spreadsheets to track key organizational information, from program statistics to fundraising planning
• Manage expansion of NESsT Venture Fund from six countries in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe to 10 nations in those regions by 2010

Solution

• Deployed the 1/1/1 model of support from Salesforce 1% Time, 1% Equity and 1% Product
• The Foundation donated 15 salesforce.com licenses to NESsT
• The Turn It Up grant was channeled specifically into three areas of NESsT’s work: performance management, donor and client relations, and communications
• Using the 1% Foundation model, salesforce.com donated employee time
