Halfords is taking some of the heartache out of having a cycle stolen. The UK retailer has joined the growing number of companies using cloud computing thanks to salesforce.com and Synchosoft.com. Halfords chose Salesforce CRM to manage relationships between insurance companies and end-user customers to ensure that the thousands of lost or stolen bikes each year are replaced as smoothly as possible. This and other systems which support the Government’s ‘Cycle2Work’ initiative, have been deployed quickly and easily using Salesforce CRM and the Force.com platform, together with partner Synchosoft.com’s Workflow optimization application. The outcome is that Halfords is reducing the cost, time and effort of managing and fulfilling the requirements of business customer services. Halfords use Salesforce CRM to record new clients, customer communication and order details and manage order escalation and fulfillment. Synchosoft.com optimizes the operational processes by providing advanced workflow management in the cloud, across salesforce.com applications, Halfords and external stakeholder systems like Insurance Claims Management. Salesforce.com’s clear-cut reporting system together with Synchosoft.com’s workflow optimization application means all operational activity is streamlined, controlled and measured. The business not only has transparent, demonstrable insight into how it is dealing with its customers, but it has also significantly improved the quality, accuracy and availability of the information in Salesforce. Halfords can quantify success and pinpoint areas which need attention at the click of a button. As a result, Insurance Replacement is quicker, more cost effective and provides a better service to customers. Charles Ashwell, B2B development manager at Halfords said: “We have an extremely efficient system thanks to the two S’s as I call them (salesforce.com and Synchosoft.com). We’ve done this by automating a lot of the manual administrative effort, reducing paper-based activities, automating escalation and communication and automatically reporting on violations and bottle necks.” “Salesforce.com and its partner Synchosoft.com have transformed our business model, we do much more with less effort and we do it better,” continued Ashwell.
