Salesforce.com Wins Best SMB Product Award at the Cloud Computing World Series Awards
~ Won in conjunction with Scancom.co.uk, which achieved enhanced customer service, satisfaction and loyalty with the Service Cloud ~
LONDON, August 16, 2010 -- Salesforce.com, the enterprise cloud computing company, has been named winner of the “Best SMB Product, Service or Solution” at the Cloud Computing World Series Awards 2010 - www.cloudwf.com/awards.
The Awards, which are judged by a panel of editors from the UK’s leading technology publications and cloud computing experts, looks for companies trail-blazing the future of the cloud.
Cloud Computing World Series judge Bryan Glick, Editor in Chief for Computer Weekly, stated that “Salesforce.com has been a pioneer in providing cloud computing solutions to small businesses and as such is well-placed to continue its innovative approach into new areas that will help to establish cloud computing as a genuine opportunity for SMBs to access the sort of software applications historically only available to their much larger rivals.”
The award, which was won in conjunction with Scancom.co.uk, a leading supplier of BlackBerry business devices, airtime and software, highlights the impact that cloud computing can have on a small business’ (SMB) bottom-line.
Since migrating to the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud from salesforce.com, Scancom.co.uk has been able to streamline sales and support processes and reduce the amount of time spent on mundane, routine tasks, allowing staff to focus on areas that drive the business. The time savings equate to each member of the sales team gaining at least one and a half hours per day.
In addition, Scancom.co.uk has halved the time taken to find client information to facilitate a support call, while the ability to generate real-time customer reports has provided the sales team with valuable information to revisit customers and up-sell, resulting in tens of thousands of pounds of additional revenue for the business.
Tim Barker, vice president of strategy for salesforce.com EMEA, added: “This award again highlights the advantages cloud computing can bring to SMBs by allowing them to compete on a level footing with the largest of enterprises. From an SMB perspective, salesforce.com offers several key benefits, namely; minimising IT costs, swift implementation, a flexible and scalable structure, and the entire system is customisable to the specific needs and processes of any business. Put simply, the Service Cloud has enabled Scancom.co.uk to put in place an innovative and efficient way of ensuring it is at the front of people’s minds for all the right reasons.
We are delighted that these benefits offered by salesforce.com have been recognised by the Cloud Computing World Series Awards.”
