{"id":516,"date":"2020-12-21T19:38:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-06T19:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/?p=516"},"modified":"2023-06-06T20:04:51","modified_gmt":"2023-06-06T20:04:51","slug":"singapore-great-place-to-work-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/blog\/singapore-great-place-to-work-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"This Is What Makes Salesforce One of the Best Workplaces in Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I am honoured to share that Salesforce has been named one of Great Place to Work\u2019s \u201c<a adhocenable=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greatplacetowork.com.sg\/best-workplace-lists\/singapore-best-workplaces-2020-medium-large\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Workplaces in Singapore<\/a>\u201d for the sixth year in a row! This award is great recognition of our amazing employees based in Singapore who have build such a great workplace culture based on our core values of Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, and Equality.<\/p>\n<p>This is my first year at Salesforce, but it\u2019s been clear since my first day that this is a company that cares deeply about its employees and the culture it creates around them. In fact, that\u2019s one of the main reasons that I wanted to join. While this year has presented us with changes large and small, what hasn\u2019t changed is the company\u2019s focus on its values. It\u2019s because of those values that we\u2019ve been able to come together as a team to solve problems for our customers, give back to our communities, and support each other through this unprecedented year.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m inspired by the work we\u2019ve done, and have seen so many examples this year of people coming together for each other, our customers, and our communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 ><b>Giving back to the community<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>In Singapore this year,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/blog\/2020\/11\/small-business-relief-grants-available-in-singapore.html\" target=\"_blank\" adhocenable=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\">Salesforce teamed up with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) to offer S$960,000 to 120 eligible small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs)<\/a>. We know SMBs that have embraced digital transformation and these grants will help them to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and return to growth.<\/p>\n<p>Salesforce is a company that believes in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/blog\/2020\/12\/benioff-and-shanmugaratnam-on-great-reset.html\" target=\"_blank\" adhocenable=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\">purpose beyond profit<\/a>. That\u2019s why we practice the 1-1-1 model: donating 1% of our equity, our employee time, and our product back into the communities.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/blog\/2020\/09\/salesforce-gives-back-to-itsrainingraincoats.html\" target=\"_blank\" adhocenable=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\">We also encourage our employees to give back through our volunteer time off (VTO)<\/a>and donation matching programs. All Salesforce employees are given seven days of paid time off per year to volunteer. Employees are also given access to a generous matching policy of up to US$5,000 every year.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout this year, we&#8217;ve also come together and donated over 14,400 hours of our employees&#8217; time to help support the most vulnerable members of our communities. We raised more than S$40,000 to give free meals to migrant workers in-need and the healthcare workers who were on the frontline fighting COVID-19. We\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/special-masks-being-made-with-transparent-portions-for-teachers-to-help-deaf-students-who\" target=\"_blank\" adhocenable=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\">sewed hundreds of face masks\u00a0<\/a>and donated them to migrant workers. Additionally, our SD\u00a0Miles for Jamiyah fundraiser and wellness challenge saw our team contributing more than 1,600 hours of VTO to help the local communities in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Salesforce Singapore raised funds for charity through various activities.\" src=\"https:\/\/salesforce-news-blog-develop.go-vip.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/06\/salesforce-singapore-volunteer.png\"><\/img> <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 ><b>Prioritising wellbeing<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve shone a spotlight on wellbeing this year. Many of us have undergone stressful situations that we never would have imagined. In response, the company has introduced new benefits, especially for parents and primary caregivers.\u00a0To support our parents as they work from home in Singapore, we offered a fully subsidised, daily, online interactive school holiday program for children, with a variety of engaging skills-based activities and experiments. We also have programmes to support employee wellbeing, such as the B-Well Together series (catch up on some great videos\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/resources\/videos\/be-well\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest adaptations we\u2019ve had to make is to our mindset. It\u2019s become more important than ever for us to lead with compassion. We understand that people are doing the best they can to help\u00a0our customers and work with each other in new ways, while keeping up with the various demands on ourselves. Our free online learning platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ap\/services\/learn\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trailhead<\/a>,\u00a0offers resources or trails f or employees to learn soft skills, including &#8220;Leading with Empathy&#8221;.
