Salesforce Singapore named a best workplace for the fifth year in a row

It brings me much joy to share that Salesforce has once again been named one of Singapore’s Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work. This is our fifth year on the list, which is definitely an achievement worthy of celebration.

We’ve built an incredible culture here in Singapore and I feel extremely lucky to work alongside so many passionate and committed individuals. Winning this award is a testament to the hard work of our employees who go above and beyond every day.

We believe that a job should be more than just the work you do and, it's commendable that we’ve achieved so much together.

In celebrating this award, I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the amazing things our team has accomplished over the past year.

We’re equality champions

Equality starts with us, it’s one of our values and we’re working together with our entire Ohana (Hawaiian for “family”) — our employees, customers, partners, community organizations and the tech industry — to build a path forward to Equality For All.

Here are some recent examples where our employees in Singapore are championing equality within their own communities;

  • This year, our team led the signatory on the Inclusive Employers Pledge along with more than 80 companies to stand against discrimination, and to champion an inclusive workplace.
  • Annually, employees attend and support the Pink Dot event in Singapore to show support of the LGBTQ community in Singapore. See a photo from the event below.
  • Earlier in the year, we were co-sponsors at Pink Fest alongside NBC Universal, where we sponsored Pink Screen - a LGBTQ themed film festival organized by The Projector.
  • With education also being a key driver of equality, we partnered with the Halogen Foundation, a youth development organisation in Singapore to deliver the BizAcademy Program. This fantastic initiative teams Salesforce employees with youths to run mentoring sessions, hackathons and more.
  • Through a new round of funding and through Halogen’s Network, we adopted a school in Singapore where our employees have committed to engage with and mentor a class of students for an entire year.

We love giving back

The act of giving back is built into our business and naturally it’s in our DNA. Through our 1-1-1 model – we’ve been able to provide 1% of our profit, 1% of our time and 1% of our product to charities, not-for-profits and initiatives to help improve the communities in which we live and work.

Our employees are encouraged to take up to seven days or 56 hours a year to volunteer and some of the charities we work with regularly here include: Halogen Foundation, Waterways, Asian Women’s Welfare Association, TOUCH Seniors, AWWA Seniors, and Food Bank Singapore.

We’ve seen that giving back allows our employees to have a greater purpose in their jobs – and because much of the volunteering and fundraising that we do is done together, we become closer as a team.

One of our largest employee-led team events in Singapore is the CloudRun. At this annual all-employee fundraising event, we attempt to run 5km to help raise money for various charities across Singapore. This year marked our 10th year running this event and it was our biggest and most successful one yet. An incredible $67,500+ SGD was raised by over 450 registered employees. Along with money raised for charities, our team was able to engage in healthy competition on the tracks, and have a lot of fun in the process!

Our people are at the heart of our company and I'm continually impressed and motivated by what this team manages to accomplish each year. Thank you to all that have contributed to making Salesforce one of Singapore's Best Workplaces once again.
