After months of anticipation, Dreamforce 2017 came and went in a flash. The four days were packed with keynotes, sessions, hands-on training, inspirational discussions with some of the world's biggest stars and much more. We countdown the top 10 highlights.

10. Visionaries and activists showed us how they make the world better

While Dreamforce may have physically been located in San Francisco, millions of Trailblazers from around the world joined in via video and live streaming on Salesforce LIVE. They watched not just the top sessions and keynotes, but also interviews with innovators, visionaries and activists. They showcased Trailblazers using the Customer Success Platform to make their industries, and the world, even better.

On Salesforce LIVE now, watch innovators Paul Daugherty, Zvika Krieger, Terah Lyons and Liesl Yearsley talk about the promise of AI; visionary Mellody Hobson, one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential People in the World, talk about being ‘colour brave’; and activist Peter Bouckaert, Human Rights Watch's Emergencies Director, discuss the Rohingya refugee crisis.

9. Trailblazing customers showed us innovation

Among the sea of booths in the Cloud Expo, some of our top customers were featured in the campground. Trailblazer brands like adidas, Girl Scouts, 21st Century Fox, KONE, Citi and UCSF demonstrated how their businesses are innovating around the world with Salesforce.

Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted revealed the new adidas app and shared the company's vision to create a premium digital experience that connects with customers across all touchpoints.

8. Lots of learning

Dreamforce is more than just having fun – it's a place to learn new skills from fellow Trailblazers. At Trailhead Academy, experts provided hands-on training, while the Trailhead Zone was buzzing all week with attendees earning hundreds of Trailhead badges, learning to code and passing exams for Salesforce Certification.

Then at the Admin Keynote, Scott Luikart, Senior Salesforce Admin for LegalZoom, was awarded the coveted Golden Trailblazer Hoodie for his Trailblazing efforts.

7. Trailheart was truly embraced – to the tune of $16million

We learned about the #Trailheart formula: Be human. Have fun. Be purposeful. Give back.

Throughout the entire week, thousands of Trailblazers embraced the Trailheart ethos. In addition to raising $15 million for the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital at Dreamfest, attendees participating in the Dreamforce Quest raised $1 million for Girl Scouts, Upwardly Global and World Vision.

Each day there were also opportunities for Trailblazers to donate their time to give back in some way, including packing backpacks for hurricane victims.

6. Trailblazers stand up for equality

Equality was a major theme throughout Dreamforce, and nowhere more visibly than in the Equality Summit. Two Hollywood heavyweights, Taraji P. Henson and Natalie Portman, were a part of this year's Equality Summit line-up.

Henson shared laughs and tears about how she has been fighting stereotypes her entire career, and continues to fight for others, while Portman told of her experience with pay disparity and how she is working to eliminate the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

5. Ashton Kutcher showed that technology can power social good

In one of the most emotional and inspiring hours of the entire week, actor and innovator Ashton Kutcher took to the stage to share how technology can be used to defeat some of the most challenging problems in our modern world. Kutcher co-founded Thorn, which works across industries to fight the trafficking and exploitation of children through the use of technology.

4. Former First Lady Michelle Obama shared the causes close to her heart

Former First Lady Michelle Obama graced the stage for an exclusive fireside chat with Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff. Obama discussed life as a private citizen, and the causes she and her husband, former President Obama, hold near and dear to their hearts.

3. Dreampitch uncovered a stand-out start-up

Back by popular demand, Dreampitch returned to the Dreamforce stage to give three start-ups built on the Salesforce platform – Retrolux, Loop & Tie and Meta Saas – the opportunity to pitch their ideas in front of a star-studded panel of judges.

Chris Sacca,, Shahrzad Rafati and Guy Oseary judged Loop & Tie – a revolutionised corporate gifting solution – the winner. Loop & Tie took home the US$250,000 investment from Salesforce Ventures.

2. Ginni Rometty and Marc Benioff shared a vision for a brighter future

Marc Benioff was joined onstage by IBM’s Chairman, President and CEO Ginni Rometty to discuss the future of work. The two leaders shared their vision for how AI and other emerging technologies will impact the workforce, and discussed how a massive influx of data is drastically impacting the world.

The discussion then turned to workforce development – both agree education is the key to helping current and future employees thrive in a rapidly changing world.

1. The Trailblazer Ohana was reunited

Dreamforce is a family reunion. It's a place where old friends reconnect, new friendships are formed and, sometimes, the odd marriage proposal occurs. Dreamforce is always an incredible reminder of the power behind the entire Trailblazer community.

This year, Trailblazers gathered to share key insights, give demos and help each other as one big Ohana. Every Trailblazer has a unique story, but each person shares the same traits of striving to be their best selves, and helping others along the way.
