But the skills that businesses will need to put this technology to work are lagging. Here, we\u2019ll share some of our best AI learning content on <a href=\"https:\/\/trailhead.salesforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">Trailhead<\/a>, Salesforce\u2019s free online learning platform, to help you get the skills you need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-case-for-change\">The case for change<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/digital-skills-based-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">recent survey<\/a> found 67% of global business leaders are considering using generative AI, but roughly the same number of IT leaders say their employees don\u2019t have the skills to use it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number of job postings on LinkedIn mentioning GPT (the generative pre-trained transformers behind the AI) increased 51% in 2022, according to the company.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The AI skills gap compounds a broader digital skills crisis. But we are seeing seismic opportunities where AI can take us into the next decades. The time to start investing in learning is now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-upskilling\">What is upskilling?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Upskilling is learning new skills for a different or expanded job function. For example, with training, a web designer could grow into a career in application development or UX design. Upskilling can occur either on the job, as an employer-supported initiative, or on your own.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning new skills can also be the key to breaking into a new industry or role. Look at it as an investment in your professional success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-learn-ai-or-get-left-behind\">Learn AI, or get left behind<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI was recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/03\/21\/opinion\/artificial-intelligence-chatgpt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">described<\/a> by one prominent columnist as magic, a Promethean moment akin to the advent of the printing press, industrial revolution, nuclear power, and the internet. It\u2019s no wonder companies are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/tech\/tech-news\/job-boards-show-employers-hiring-roles-linked-chatgpt-ai-tools-rcna74023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">scrambling<\/a> to hire skilled people to integrate it into their work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More broadly, upskilling is key to a more engaged workforce, which can <a href=\"https:\/\/trailhead.salesforce.com\/content\/learn\/trails\/boost-productivity-with-customer-360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">boost productivity<\/a>. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.talentlms.com\/blog\/reskilling-upskilling-training-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noopener\">2020 study<\/a>, 91% of companies and 81% of employees say upskilling or reskilling has boosted productivity.
