This National Reconciliation Week\u2019s theme is Be A Voice For Generations<\/a>. It\u2019s never been more important for Australians from all walks of life to use their voice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For years we\u2019ve witnessed successive Closing the Gap reports demonstrate a failure to create a fairer and more equal Australia for First Nations people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We now have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show we\u2019re not just allies but activists, ready to use our voice to advocate for change. This can be a moment of healing for all Australians which unites the country not only today, but for generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe constitutional reform to recognise First Nations Australians is long overdue. That empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to have a say on the laws and policies which impact their lives will drive better outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our viewpoint is underpinned by our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan<\/a> (RAP) and our core value of equality<\/a>. Our RAP commitment and deep seated belief in equality means we cannot remain silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re proud to back The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice as the first step of  Voice, Treaty, Truth,<\/em> as outlined in the Uluru Statement from the Heart<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re proud to support our employees to engage fully in this national conversation to make sure their vote counts. This process will be guided by our External First Nations Advisory Group, composed of a diverse group of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australian employees will be invited to connect directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their stories and to learn from trusted sources of information. This starts next week with an employee session co-hosted by Salesforce Australia leadership team members and employee resource group WINDforce (Worldwide Indigenous Network for Diversity)<\/a> to amplify First Nations perspectives and encourage discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are focused on creating spaces for respectful discussion and diverse views while protecting the wellbeing of our employees. In particular, we are conscious of the greater risk of harm the referendum debate may pose for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, their families and communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an important moment in the history of Australia. We are all challenged to listen with open hearts and use our voice and our vote to make this country a better place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
