{"id":10681,"date":"2024-08-30T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/?p=10681"},"modified":"2024-08-30T00:55:39","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T14:55:39","slug":"generative-ai-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/au\/news\/stories\/generative-ai-business\/","title":{"rendered":"New Research Reveals Australian C-suite\u2019s Generative AI Business Priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>New Salesforce research reveals generative AI is among the top three business priorities for 81 per cent of Australian C-suite executives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/au\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/08\/Salesforce_YouGov_AI-Research_Australia.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey of nearly 300 leaders<\/a> from large businesses across the country, 50 per cent said their organisation currently had a clear and defined generative AI strategy, while a further 42 per cent said they had started working on a generative AI strategy for their business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why it matters:<\/strong> Today, every company wants to be an AI company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research suggests, companies that haven\u2019t already implemented AI risk losing significant ground to competitors, and this could happen more quickly than anticipated, as we move from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/au\/service\/customer-service-chatbot\/what-is-a-chatbot\/?d=cta-body-promo-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chatbots<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/blog\/ai-copilot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">copilots<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/service\/ai\/agents-guide\/?d=cta-body-promo-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">autonomous AI agents<\/a>. This next great leap forward will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/rise-of-agentic-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">agentic systems<\/a>, which can be thought of as trusted digital colleagues as opposed to digital assistants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C-suite executives said the key motivations driving generative AI adoption were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhanced productivity (43%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovative customer and employee experiences (42%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtaining a competitive edge in a dynamic market (41%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Go deeper: <\/strong>Aussie C-suite executives are bullish on generative AI integration and are taking decisive action to ensure its success. The CEO is seen as being the most responsible for ensuring generative AI is successfully integrated (40%) and teams enabled, followed by the CIO\/CTO (29%), and department heads (17%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked where generative AI would have the biggest positive business impact, C-suite executives identified information technology (41%), operations (35%), customer service (31%) and marketing (29%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being widely used, however, over 92 per cent of C-suite executives said they believed there were still barriers to adoption of generative AI in their business today. Data factors were high on the list of barriers, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accessibility and inclusivity (31%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generative AI producing inaccurate outputs (31%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of incomplete customer\/company data to train AI models (30%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of data privacy and security (28%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of out-of-date public data to train generative AI models (25%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If we can create a better experience for these customer-facing teams, we\u2019ll be creating real value for our business.<\/p>\n<cite><strong>Jeremy Burton, CTO, hipages Group<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The customer perspective: <\/strong>\u201cOne of the reasons we recently expanded our agreement with Salesforce to include Einstein 1 was to use it to unlock the potential of generative AI across our business.
