OTARC & Salesforce Create App to Help Parents with Early Detection of Autism

The Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre (OTARC) at La Trobe University has set out to change the outlook for children with Autism. Over the past 10 years, OTARC has trained more than 200 Melbourne nurses to observe children at the earliest possible time. From the nurse’s observation, an algorithm calculates if a child is at-risk. Salesforce has worked with them to put this process into a mobile app, which will enable parents to make the same observations – link to the same algorithm – to detect the early signs of Autism in their children. Understanding that early intervention is the critical factor in ensuring a high quality of life.
