Inclusivity and Equality at Connections ‘19

We aim to make our Connections event as inclusive as possible. Here's what you need to know from accessibility logistics to equality events to attend.

At Connections ’19, we aim to make the event as inclusive as possible. We do this through our actions as well as our content. Why do we do this? We believe that business is a platform for good, a platform for change, and that we can not make this happen without all people being able to be part of the experience. 

Connections is accessible

Core to inclusivity at Connections is making sure that all attendees can experience content. For that reason, within the conference registration form, there is an ask for accessibility requirements. Please indicate “yes” in this section upon registering, or contact us. A member of our team will contact you to discuss your specific requirements. (Please submit your request by June 10, 2019. Requests are honored to the maximum extent possible.)

Transportation and mobility

And we also want you to be able to get around no matter! If you require additional mobility assistance at Connections, please contact the accessible shuttle (310-869-6212.) Guests should call the accessible shuttle phone number at least one hour prior to requested service going to and from McCormick; however, we will do our best to transport you as soon as possible. Advanced reservations are recommended. In addition, if you need to rent a scooter or wheelchair to navigate the conference, McCormick partners with Scootaround. Contact Scootaround Mobility Solutions at 888-441-7575 or visit Scootaround’s site for more information. The pickup location for scooters and wheelchairs will be at FedEx on the second floor.

Accessible seating

We will have reserved seats in each session for easy access. Please look for “reserved” signs in each room. If you should require any assistance, please let us know and our team can support you onsite.

Parent’s room

In an effort to provide a welcoming environment for all Salesforce Connections attendees, we plan to provide dedicated parent’s rooms located on Level 1 and 3 of McCormick Place West. If you require a refrigerator, please use the parent’s room located on level 3.

Join Trailblazing Women, to hear from a panel of female leaders, engage in lively table discussions, and network with Salesforce customers, partners, employees, and other inspirational leaders.

At Connections, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in hands-on opportunities that make an impact and help the people who need it most. 

This year, join us at the Future Ready Kit Build Station to help build school supply kits for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago — an organization that helps children realize their potential and build their futures through quality 1-to-1 mentoring. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago helps 2,000 children facing adversity in Metro Chicago and their families across four counties: Cook, DuPage and Lake Counties in Illinois and Indiana The Future Ready Kits we’ll build at Connections will be distributed to local students in need by the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

But wait — don’t forget about Quest!

Quest is a great way to give back at the event. This year Quest takes you through five recommended experiences you cannot miss at the event. Once you complete our stops, you’ll unlock a prize and a $10 donation to support Smile Train, an organization who empowers medical professionals around the world to provide cleft surgeries to more than one million children each year. Your completion of Quest will help us reach our event goal of donating $5,000.
