But not everyone realizes each of these platforms includes hidden features that bloggers and small business owners can use to their advantage.<\/p>\n<p>These little-known features can help you monitor your audience, better organize your profiles, and use social media platforms more effectively. Without further ado, here\u2019s a look at some of the hidden\u2014and highly useful\u2014features available to you on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<h3> <\/h3>\n<h3><b>Facebook<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2023\/10\/hidden-social-media-features-002.png?strip=all&#038;quality=95\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>Facebook is one of the older social media platforms, but it still has several tricks up its sleeve. Here are some of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcmag.com\/slideshow\/story\/324797\/12-hidden-facebook-\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcmag.com\/slideshow\/story\/324797\/12-hidden-facebook-\">little-known features<\/a> that can take your Facebook game to the next level:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Review \u201cother\u201d messages: <\/b>People who aren\u2019t connected to you on Facebook can still send you messages. To read them, click on the \u201cOther\u201d folder to the right of your inbox.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Access quick stats: <\/b>Every time you add a post to a page, an \u201cX people reached\u201d meter appears at the bottom of the post. Click on it, and you\u2019ll see the actions people took with each post, including likes, comments, and shares, and how your posts look in the feed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Save links to read later: <\/b>Sometimes you just don\u2019t have time to engage with content in the moment, but you want to at some point. Save books, events, links, movies, music, places, and TV shows by clicking the drop-down menu in the top right corner of posts and selecting \u201cSave.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Manage posts to page: <\/b>Even if they aren\u2019t a page admin, users can post to a business\u2019 page by tagging the business in their posts. These tagged posts will show up in the sidebar underneath your photos. It\u2019s a good idea to monitor these for spam as well as customer service and engagement opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Reorder page sections: <\/b>So long as you\u2019re a page admin, you can rearrange sidebar elements by dragging and dropping them into position. (Note that the \u201cpeople\u201d and \u201cabout\u201d sections are permanently locked into the top two spots.) To move elements, hover over the \u201cAbout\u201d bar until the option to \u201cManage\u201d shows up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Feature page owners and liked pages: <\/b>If you want to manage which page owners appear on your \u201cAbout\u201d page and which of your liked pages show up in the \u201cLiked pages\u201d widget, simply head to the \u201cPage settings\u201d tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Google+<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/www.salesforce.com\/content\/dam\/blogs\/ca\/Blog%20Posts\/hidden-social-media-features-003.png\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>Google+ may not be the most popular social media site, but it\u2019s still worth maintaining a profile for the small SEO boost. Here is a hidden way to maximize your presence on the platform:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Track public reach: <\/b>\u201cRipples\u201d is the Google+ equivalent of an engagement tracker. Each time you share a post publicly, you can<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/plus\/answer\/1283790?hl=en&amp;rd=1\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/plus\/answer\/1283790?hl=en&amp;rd=1\">follow social engagement<\/a> by clicking the drop-down arrow at the top of the post and selecting \u201cView Ripples.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Twitter<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2023\/10\/hidden-social-media-features-001.png?strip=all&#038;quality=95\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>On its surface, Twitter\u2019s interface is exceptionally simple: You write short tweets and you retweet other accounts\u2019 tweets or you favorite tweets\u2014and that\u2019s that. But dig a little deeper, and there are<a href=\"https:\/\/support.twitter.com\/articles\/20170134https:\/support.twitter.com\/articles\/20170134\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/support.twitter.com\/articles\/20170134https:\/support.twitter.com\/articles\/20170134\">plenty of other features<\/a> available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Mute: <\/b>This feature is particularly helpful when other users are participating in chats or tweet bursts that you don\u2019t necessarily want clogging up your timeline. Muting an account allows you to remove an account\u2019s tweets from your timeline without going through the drama of permanently unfollowing them. <\/li>\n<li><b>Tag photos: <\/b>Tagging photos is a great way to connect with influencers about an event or product launch and draw more eyes to your account. Best of all, you can tag up to 10 people per photo without it counting against the platform\u2019s 140-character limit. <\/li>\n<li><b>Create a photo collage: <\/b>Few people realize this, but Twitter actually allows you to share more than one photo per tweet, which can be a great way to showcase events and\/or products. Once you upload an image, you can click \u201cAdd more\u201d to tack on up to three more photos. <\/li>\n<li><b>Embed a SlideShare presentation: <\/b>Using this feature allows you to share presentations with your followers without them leaving your account\u2019s page. Simply link to a SlideShare presentation and it will automatically embed itself for easy reading. <\/li>\n<li><b>Track who unfollows you: <\/b>This feature requires using an external source, but it\u2019s well worth opening a new tab. Manageflitter.com allows you to track who unfollows you, filter your followers using a range of criteria, determine when your followers are most likely to be online, manage multiple Twitter accounts from one location, and track keyword mentions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>LinkedIn<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2023\/10\/hidden-social-media-features-004.png?strip=all&#038;quality=95\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>First, respect<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ca\/blog\/2016\/08\/linkedin-dos-and-donts.html\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/ca\/blog\/2016\/08\/linkedin-dos-and-donts.html\">LinkedIn dos and don\u2019ts<\/a>, but then get extra traction out of the platform by tapping into the following hidden features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Message someone you\u2019re not connected to: <\/b>One of the easiest ways to get in touch with someone you\u2019re not connected to is to join a group you have in common; group members can message each other even if they don\u2019t have a direct connection. Simply find your desired connection\u2019s post within the group and then select \u201cReply privately\u201d from the drop-down arrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Download a list of your connections: <\/b>Select \u201cConnections\u201d from the top menu, then click the gear icon in the top right corner to download a list of connections that includes each connection\u2019s name, title, company name, and email address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Maintain relationship notes: <\/b>For every profile you\u2019re connected to, you can<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/20140722165820-34888774-linkedin-s-relationship-tab-organize-prospects-build-relationships\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/20140722165820-34888774-linkedin-s-relationship-tab-organize-prospects-build-relationships\">add relationship notes<\/a> such as how you met, contact information, recurring reminders, and other details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Create a showcase page: <\/b>A<a href=\"https:\/\/help.linkedin.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/44865\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/help.linkedin.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/44865\">showcase page<\/a> is nested under a main company page and used to promote specific products or market to a specific buyer. (To create one, select \u201cCreate a showcase page\u201d from the drop-down to the right of the \u201cEdit\u201d button.) Businesses can create up to 10 showcase pages for free.
