Salesforce Accelerate FAQ

These are the questions we hear a lot and you'll find the answers below. If you have others, please don't hesitate to contact us — we're here to help.

While the Incubator program was well received, we understand that the residency requirements for some companies can be an impediment to participation. We also received a lot of feedback concerning the length of the program, and have responded by developing a 3-month program that is more tuned to accelerating the time to market for new AppExchange apps as well as driving go-to-market alignment between our companies. With these changes, we have updated the name of the program to “Salesforce Accelerate.”

We still hold the same values and goals for the program — to lay the foundation for a meaningful partnership and to accelerate your success in the Salesforce Ecosystem.
No. Only accepted applicants can participate in the Salesforce Accelerate programming. Applications for the next cohort will open in March 2018.
The Salesforce Accelerate program runs for 3 months.
Wednesday, January 31, 2018
Our graduation event will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

We are structuring the weekly programming as follows:

  1. Tuesday: Technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) talks
  2. Wednesday: Office hours (optional 30 minute slots can be booked on an as-needed basis)
  3. Thursday: Business/Product SME talks

Additional meetings:

  • You will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program and will have a standing meeting scheduled every 2 weeks. Options for web conference or in-person meetings will be accommodated. These meetings will take place on Monday of the given week.
  • Workshops (in-person). We will conduct 3 workshops in San Francisco during the program. Each workshop will include a cohort dinner the evening before the workshop, a full workshop day and a public evening event following the workshop. (2 persons/company maximum)
We have designed the Salesforce Accelerate program to provide you with the insight, learning and support to help you strategically align with Salesforce and accelerate your time-to-market with respect to the AppExchange. We do not code for you, sell your app or run your company. The advisors, mentors and support staff are here to help you figure out how to execute with excellence. As with life, you will only get out of the program what you put into it.
Not exactly. While we do not stage a traditional investor “Demo Day”, we do believe in showcasing our cohort companies at the end of the program. We will end the program with a public graduation event that features your customer pitch and/or product demo. Our invite list includes Salesforce executives, our advisor network, the local investment community, press and customers. The best pitch will win the coveted “best of cohort” prize. Your pitch will be recorded and provided to you as an edited asset that can be used for further marketing purposes.
No. The new program does not require residency in SF and we have no office space allocated to participants. Most of the programming will be delivered via live web conference meetings. This includes subject matter talks and 1:1 meetings. Participants will be invited to San Francisco for 3 major workshops and events (attendance is required for these workshops and events).
No. You are responsible for your own travel and lodging for the 3 workshops that take place during the program. Food will be provided as part of our workshop events.
Yes. This is a great opportunity to accelerate your journey with Salesforce for willing participants. We will be monitoring participation in the program and require full participation from all participants. We will schedule the online programming to be delivered during regular business hours in the following time zones: Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern. We encourage you to share the webinar invites (and recordings) with specialists within your company, based on the topics of interest. At least one person from your company is required to participate in the online programming.
Yes. This does not mean that you can plan on “catching up” on the program instead of participating live. Each cohort is relatively small and you will be able to discuss the meeting topics directly with the subject matter experts to gain more insights and get your questions answered. Plan ahead so that you can participate in most, if not all, of the talks that are part of the program. We encourage you to share the webinar invites (and recordings) with specialists within your company, based on the topics of interest.
As mentioned above, the Incubator program has been sunset and with it, our dedicated incubator space. Participants will be invited to San Francisco for 3 major workshops (attendance required) that will be held in our facilities. We will provide the option for local participants to meet with their mentor in-person for their regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings.
Advisors are subject matter experts that include Salesforce employees and other industry experts. Mentors are designated Salesforce employees that are paired with you for the duration of the program.
We are curating our advisor list to ensure that our program advisors can meet with you online (Hangout, Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.). Subject to being local to your advisor, you will have the option to meet in person as well.
