What Employees Are Saying About Indy’s Top Workplace

By Brittany Bunch

Salesforce Indianapolis has more than 2,300 employees which means you’re exposed to — unique backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and people on a daily basis.

We have an ongoing commitment to building a workplace reflective of the diverse communities we serve, that commitment has landed us back on Indiana’s Chamber of Commerce Best Places to Work list!

Salesforce Indianapolis strives to cultivate an environment where employees are empowered to speak up, get involved and make a difference both in and out of the workplace. Subsequently, the combination of diverse perspectives and people has created a highly collaborative workplace committed to innovation (https://www.salesforce.com/company/careers/culture/innovation/) and a culture we can all be proud of.

Meet four Salesforce employees who enjoy exploring out of the box opportunities, making an impact and innovating in Indianapolis.

Tre Robinson

Development Automation Engineer

“I didn’t know a whole lot about the Salesforce culture before I started working here, apart from the fact that the people I’d met who worked at Salesforce were working on some cool projects. But what really intrigued me was that they seemed to have such a positive attitude about themselves and each other. Since joining, I’ve discovered that not always having the answers is kind of the point! We are all working it out together. That’s what problem-solving is: finding the answers. And so asking questions is essential. It’s not weak – it’s smart.”

Kai Johnson

Manager, Values Based Marketing

“A big part of what success looks like to me: bringing your full, authentic self to a workplace that empowers you to succeed, professionally and personally. I love being part of an organization that understands the value of equality of education and opportunity, and knows that a diverse spectrum of voices enriches and raises everyone up.”

Angelica Rodriguez

Senior Software Engineer

“I'm not just writing code for apps that automate sales and marketing processes. I am making someone's life easier, freeing up their time to focus on what matters to them. Currently, I’m working on a cross-cloud project that will be transformative for Marketing Cloud. I love being a part of the prototyping, deciding which technologies to use, and integrating the different pieces to build the ideal user experience. We are using the latest and greatest web components and data management for this project. I’m innovating, growing every day, and have a chance to contribute to new technologies. It’s an engineering dream.”

Bunmi Akintomide

Manager, Systems Specialists

“A career here is self-transcendent. Yes, we leverage our technology to create opportunities for our customers but it’s bigger than that. Here we’re able to leverage both our technology and platform to build a bridge into the communities where we work. Since joining Salesforce, I’ve served as the Membership/Community Lead on BOLDforce Indy and been an active ally with Outforce. Last year, our local Equality Groups made a big impact in the community with our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters through ongoing mentorship throughout the school year, a landscaping beautification project and hosting Career Day for students. Our corporate culture is rooted in community.”

Truthfully, the daily tasks of any job — whether it’s an automation engineer or a systems specialist — are essentially the same no matter where you work. Jobs don’t make an organization special, people do. At Salesforce, we believe our culture and our people are our two biggest differentiators and greatest competitive advantages. Our employees are essential to the impact we’ve made both in our industry and in our communities. It’s their willingness to bring their full, authentic selves to work that has led us to be recognized by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana again. Congrats, Team Indy!
