SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 4, 2011 – Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the enterprise cloud computing (http://www.salesforce.com/cloudcomputing/) company, today announced Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff will speak at Oracle OpenWorld Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. PT. Benioff’s session will take place in the Novellus Theatre at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, next to Moscone North.

Immediately following Benioff’s session at approximately 12:00 p.m. PT, he will host a press Q&A which will be audiocast live on salesforce.com’s website at www.salesforce.com/investor.

Salesforce.com Welcomes Oracle Open World Attendees to the Social Enterprise
Attendees of Benioff’s keynote will learn about the social revolution that is taking place. The number of social networking users has surpassed e-mail users. Nearly a quarter of all time spent online is spent on social networks like Facebook. And people access the Internet more from mobile devices than from desktops. Salesforce.com is helping companies meet the challenge of this social revolution with the social enterprise. Today, companies must change the way they collaborate, communicate and share information with customers and employees to stay competitive. Salesforce.com Foundation Demonstrates the Power of Integrated Philanthropy
Oracle OpenWorld attendees will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer activities hosted onsite at the salesforce.com booth, #1801, on the expo floor. Each day, the Salesforce.com Foundation will host different volunteer activities such as filling bags for homeless children, building back packs of school essentials for local children and building medical kits for people in need globally.

The full schedule of volunteer activities includes:
o Attendees can help fill 500 bags with blankets, books and stuffed animals and create no-sew blankets for homeless children to assist Project Night Night, the leading provider of night-time comforts for homeless children.
o Attendees can create 2,200 family snack boxes for family’s visiting the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, UCSF’s state-of-the-art children’s hospital.
Attendees can hang well wishes and inspirational words on UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital’s wishing tree for hospitalized children.
o Attendees can build 2,000 medical kits for people with AIDS in Africa, Asia and Latin America with World Vision, a global humanitarian organization tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
o Attendees can stuff 500 back packs and write inspirational letters for school children to assist Playworks, a national nonprofit that supports learning by providing safe and healthy play in schools.
