The World Economic Forum (WEF) took place last week in Davos, Switzerland, bringing together leaders from around the world and all walks of life to develop a shared narrative to improve the state of the world, under the theme “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.” Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff and Vice Chairman and COO Keith Block, among other Salesforce leaders, participated in WEF 2018.

This year’s gathering in Davos focused on the challenges brought by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including how rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, quantum computing and other fields are impacting our economies, societies and daily lives. While today's technologies are delivering incredible benefits, there is also a dark side. Many people will potentially be left behind despite technological advances, expanding the inequality gap. Benioff and other Salesforce leaders discussed how technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as AI, need to evolve in ways that benefit all humanity.

Video sessions from Davos featured Marc Benioff, and archived video replays are available, as well as highlights from on-site interviews and activities. During WEF 2018, Benioff participated in the following panel discussions:

  • Tuesday, January 23: Benioff participated in a panel discussion entitled "In Technology We Trust?" A webcast of the event is available at:
