Salesforce Interns Share Imaginative Tech Projects and More at Demo Day

This summer, Salesforce welcomed more than 700 interns from around the world to participate in our Futureforce internship program to launch their careers. On August 3, at several Salesforce locations including headquarters in San Francisco, the participating interns gathered for a Demo Day, where they not only showed off the projects they worked on during the program, but also shared their Salesforce experience with invited family members and friends.

Tony Prophet, Salesforce’s Chief Equality Officer (seen in the photo below), spoke to the interns and their families and friends on topics ranging from equality to how rapidly evolving technologies such as artificial intelligence are shaping The Fourth Industrial Revolution. The interns also got to see projects that their peers were working on, and they participated in volunteering activities and a tour of Salesforce’s San Francisco campus.

Prophet’s address included an introduction to Salesforce’s employee resource groups, called Ohana Groups, which are an important part of the company’s many equality-focused initiatives. “When we get up every morning and ask where North is, a core element is making sure that we are building a culture of equality,” he said. “Our Ohana Groups are an important part of that.”

Several of the participating interns blogged about their experience during the Futureforce summer program. “Today marks the beginning of my third week with Salesforce within the Customer Innovation Team, and I could not have asked for a better internship so far,” Michele McCauley wrote. “I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of people.” McCauley noted that her internship included time spent with several members of Salesforce’s executive leadership team.

“Culture is a big part of Salesforce that separates it from other tech companies,” wrote Jiaqi Wu. “For me, it’s important to work at a company that shares the same values as myself, and Salesforce values equality, transparency, and giving back.”

Demo Day, of course, focused on demonstrations of the projects that the interns worked on over the summer. Here is a sampling of the projects and their authors:
