Work at Salesforce moves fast and the tools, channels, and systems that power it need to keep up. Staying on top of constantly changing updates and workflows required employees to navigate multiple systems throughout the day.
For example, sellers juggled meeting prep and account management between Salesforce, Slack, email, and other tools. In IT, incidents affecting the company’s complex global infrastructure required teams to manually pull together critical information from multiple systems to identify the impact and notify the right people.
Even though these teams do vastly different work, they all needed a faster way to access vital information. It was all there in Slack, primed for an intelligent interface to unite their data, apps, and people in the flow of work.
Slackbot is that interface. A personal AI agent built directly into Slack, Slackbot has visibility across every employee's system of work, helping them catch up, prep for meetings, handle scheduling, update Salesforce records, and so much more — all in a single conversation, without leaving Slack.
For example, imagine it’s Monday morning and a Salesforce customer success manager has a call in an hour. They start a chat with Slackbot and ask it to help them prep. Slackbot pulls the latest opportunity details for that customer from Sales Cloud, surfaces a relevant case from Service Cloud, finds the deck the account executive shared two weeks ago in Slack, and checks their calendar for potential follow-up times to propose. In seconds, the customer success manager has everything they need for the meeting so they can spend their time prepping instead of digging for details. If they want to share that holistic picture with the team, to keep everyone up to speed, Slackbot can generate a canvas to be shared back out with the account channel.
“What makes Slackbot fundamentally different from other AI tools is that it knows your context,” said Andy White, SVP of Business Technology. “It knows who you are, how you communicate, your team, your work patterns, and has access to your entire ecosystem.”
All an employee has to do is describe what they need in conversational language. Slackbot pulls from everything they have access to — their direct messages, documents, canvases, upcoming meetings, and critical teammates — to return results that are actually relevant to them, their role, and their relationships — no browsing, no searching, no switching tabs.
For Salesforce’s sellers, Slackbot is the solution to time-consuming meeting prep and account management tasks.
Because everything sellers need is available via Slack, Slackbot can handle many of their most time-consuming tasks with just a quick, conversational exchange. Like the customer success manager, a seller can get up to speed on their account quickly before a call. After that, they can ask Slackbot to perform a full assessment of deal health, key stakeholders, and next steps. What once took an hour to do by hand is now agentically generated in seconds. After the call, Slackbot helps the account executive log the meeting and update the contact's title in the CRM, keeping the records current while the seller focuses on what's next.
“Slackbot is much more than just a productivity tool,” said Jason Cohen, a Salesforce account executive. “It’s a capability multiplier that helps me do better quality work in a fraction of the time, whether that’s analyzing complex customer data, preparing for high-stakes meetings, or creating compelling content like presentations and proposals.”
For the IT teams responsible for handling infrastructure issues, speed and accuracy during incidents is paramount. Slackbot automates time-consuming tasks and generates crucial insights when they’re needed most, helping IT teams resolve issues quickly.
For example, when a surge of unusual login activity appears at 2:00 a.m., the IT team needs to quickly identify which customers may be involved and ensure the right account executives have the context they need. An IT employee can paste up to 50 org IDs into Slackbot, which queries Sales Cloudand instantly generates a ready-to-use CSV with org ID, account owner, company name, and region — giving the team everything they need to follow up and verify the situation quickly.
Previously, notifying customers meant manually copying data from four spreadsheets and three systems. Now it’s conversational self-service in a single pane that identifies affected accounts — meaning faster incident response, better customer communication, and more time focused on resolution rather than research.
When implementing Slackbot, Salesforce didn’t have to train models, set new permissions, or run enablement programs. All they had to do was turn it on. There was no rollout plan, no training sessions, and no onboarding required — every employee had immediate access to a personal AI agent the moment Slackbot was enabled. And because Slackbot lives where employees already work, adoption followed naturally.
Because it’s built natively into Slack, Slackbot inherits the permissions and security rules already in place across the business from integrated apps and workspaces. That means every piece of data it accesses — from CRM records, emails, and pitch decks for sellers to service data and incident history for IT — stays protected without additional setup, and Slackbot only surfaces information each user is authorized to see.
Slackbot’s ability to extend beyond Slack is enabled through enterprise search connectors. It can access files, calendars, and records in multiple systems, and, because it’s directly integrated with Salesforce and Google Calendar, it can even take action by autonomously updating CRM records, scheduling meetings, and logging activity.
Slackbot gives every team at Salesforce a single starting point for work, and the productivity gains have been huge and immediate.
"Our sellers are saving valuable time previously spent hunting down information, finding context, and getting answers,” said Andy White, Salesforce’s SVP of Business Technology. “Not only is this a better experience, it gives back time for what matters: serving customers, strategic thinking, and driving innovation."
Across the business, Slackbot’s most dedicated users are saving up to 20 hours per week — the equivalent of half a year of work time annually. That time is being reinvested in the strategic, creative, and customer-facing work that moves the business forward.
Slackbot lives where Salesforce employees already work — no new tools, no new logins, no behavior change required. This made turning it on is as simple as flipping a switch, and adoption followed naturally. Employees got the full power of a personal AI agent layered on top of the trusted, secure platform they already use every day.
Slackbot doesn’t just know what’s in Slack. It reaches across every connected app and system in an employee's system of work. From Google Workspace to Salesforce's internal CRM and knowledge bases, Slackbot pulls context from the entire ecosystem to search, synthesize, schedule, and take action in a single conversation.
There’s no new security model to configure. Slackbot adheres to existing data access and user permissions — and respects channel, conversation, and Canvas access within Slack itself. Every employee only ever sees what they’re already authorized to see, automatically.
Slackbot brings the right agents into the conversation so Salesforce employees can tap into specialized skills without switching between channels or losing context.
