They help shape the generated content and ensure that it meets specific criteria or requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019ve the right parameters in place, it\u2019s easier for the model to recognise patterns and predict what comes next when it generates content. But beware: setting these parameters is a balancing act. Too few and the AI might not be accurate, but too many and it might be too specialised.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily, from a sales perspective, you\u2019ll never need deep knowledge about setting parameters. But it\u2019s definitely a good thing to be aware of \u2014 just so you\u2019ve a general understanding of how the AI works and what makes the model produce accurate and coherent responses.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-hallucinations\">4. Hallucinations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Next up, let\u2019s look at a term that you\u2019re going to want to know \u2014 but not because it\u2019s a good thing \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/eu\/blog\/ai-without-the-angst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hallucinations<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the world of generative AI, hallucinations occur when the model analyses the provided input but comes to an incorrect conclusion. This produces new content that doesn\u2019t correspond to either reality&nbsp;or its training data. That\u2019s why we call them hallucinations \u2014 because they don\u2019t fit with reality.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine a model trained on thousands of photos of animals. If you asked it to generate a new image of an \u201canimal\u201d and it produced an image of a giraffe with the trunk of an elephant, that would be considered a hallucination. Because while that \u201canimal\u201d looks fun and could be cool to see, it doesn\u2019t actually exist in real life.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They say you need to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. A hallucination is an important generative AI term to know. It\u2019s evidence of an undesirable outcome and indicates a problem in the generative model\u2019s outputs. You need to be aware of this in case it happens to you when you\u2019re using a tool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-machine-learning-bias\">5. Machine learning bias<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And, finally, the fifth term that you absolutely need to know (again \u2026 not because it\u2019s a good thing) is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/eu\/blog\/machine-learning-issues-and-considerations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">machine learning bias<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what happens when a computer learns from a limited or one-sided view of the world and starts making skewed decisions when faced with something new. It could be the effect of a deliberate decision by \u200chumans inputting data. But it\u2019s more likely a result of them accidentally incorporating biased data, or algorithms making the wrong assumptions during the learning process. The end result is the same \u2014 biased, inaccurate outcomes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, this is something you want to avoid at all costs. Biased outcomes are worse than no outcomes at all, especially as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/eu\/resources\/research-reports\/state-of-the-connected-customer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">63% of customers globally are concerned about bias in AI.<\/a> These biased outcomes not only have big impacts on your business right now, but they can also keep reinforcing those biases in future outputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Salesforce, we go to extreme lengths to make sure our AI has no machine-learning bias.
