Former VP of worldwide sales at Siebel Systems will also become chairman of salesforce.com Distribution Committee
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - April 22, 2003 - Salesforce.com®, the market and technology leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that Craig Ramsey, former vice president of worldwide sales for Siebel Systems (NASDAQ: SEBL), has been elected to salesforce.com's Board of Directors. "With salesforce.com's recent implementation success at Avis, and AOL the company has moved the bar forward for on-demand computing in all enterprises," said Ramsey. "Now as salesforce.com has become profitable, the company's financial and market successes illuminate the impact that an enhanced distribution strategy can have. I am looking forward to working with the company to develop new strategies for expanding its growing dominance in on-demand computing."
Most recently, Ramsey served as vice president of worldwide sales for Siebel Systems. While at Siebel, he oversaw the company's sales growth from $4 million to more than $1.5 billion. Prior to Siebel, Ramsey was VP of US Sales at Oracle Corporation [NASDAQ: ORCL]. Previously, Craig held positions at Amdahl as well as other high tech software and hardware companies. Ramsey began his career in technology with IBM (NYSE: IBM) in 1968.
"It is my personal pleasure to welcome Craig Ramsey to our Board of Directors," said Benioff. "After working with Craig for over 17 years, I know firsthand that he brings an unprecedented level of expertise to the development of our distribution strategy, and to our pursuit of 'The End of Software.' We could not have attracted a better candidate for this critical position."
