Conceived in 1970 by Sir Richard Branson, the Virgin Group has gone on to grow successful businesses in sectors including mobile telephony, travel and transportation, financial services, leisure and entertainment and health and wellness. Virgin is a leading international investment group and one of the world's most recognised and respected brands.

Sir Richard has challenged himself with many record breaking adventures, including the fastest ever Atlantic Ocean crossing, a series of hot air balloon journeys and kitesurfing across the Channel. He has described Virgin Galactic, the world’s first commercial spaceline, as “the greatest adventure of all.”

Since starting youth culture magazine Student aged 16, Sir Richard has found entrepreneurial ways to drive positive change in the world. In 2004 he established non-profit foundation Virgin Unite to tackle tough social and environmental problems and strive to make business a force for good. Most of his time is now spent building businesses that will make a positive difference in the world and working with Virgin Unite and organisations it has incubated, such as The Elders, The Carbon War Room, The B Team, Ocean Unite and Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship. He also serves on the Global Commission on Drug Policy and supports ocean conservation with the Ocean Elders.

Jeffrey Barnett

CEO, Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Jeff was named the CEO of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud in July of 2016 following the acquisition of Demandware by Salesforce. Jeff had served as Executive Vice President and COO of Demandware since January 2013 and as member of the Demandware Board of Directors since July 2014. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Field Operations from November 2005 until December 2012. Before joining Demandware, Jeff served as Vice President of Sales for EMEA at Siebel Systems, Inc., a CRM software company, from December 2004 until September 2005. Prior to joining Siebel, Jeff served as Managing Director, International Operations at eDOCs, Inc., a billing, payment, and account management software company, from May 2002 until December 2004, and as Vice President, International Sales and Marketing at eDOCs from November 1999 until May 2002. Jeff currently serves on the board of directors of several private companies. He holds a B.S. in computer information systems from Colorado State University and an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Karen Beebe

Karen Beebe is the Vice President of Technology for vineyard vines. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing all facets of technology for the organization and driving the unified commerce vision.

Prior to joining vineyard vines, Karen held senior leadership positions at Chico’s FAS, Inc. and Limited Brands (L Brands) where she led many multi-brand, international enterprise-wide initiatives and transformation programs.

Karen has been part of Executive Leadership teams that have won two CIO 100 Awards and she has served on many Technology Vendor User Boards in global leadership positions.

Shelley Bransten

Senior Vice President, Retail Industry Solutions, Salesforce

Shelley Bransten is the SVP of Retail Industry Solutions at Salesforce. In this role, Bransten is responsible for developing and launching transformative business solutions that address the unique challenges facing the retail industry.

In her previous role leading CRM for Gap, Inc., Bransten set the vision and execution of world-class CRM programs for Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy. Shelley built out Gap Inc.’s CRM Strategy where she lead the team for over 16 years and oversaw the customer database and direct to customer marketing for the world’s largest specialty retailer.

In addition to her 16 year tenure leading CRM for Gap Inc., Shelley served on the Board of Merchants Customer Exchange (MCX) a mobile payments and loyalty coalition with executives from leading retailers and brands such as Target, Walmart, Lowe’s Southwest Airlines, Best Buy, Exxon Mobile, etc. Shelley has also been an advisory Board Member for Loyalty One’s annual Loyalty Innovation Awards.

Prior to Gap Inc., Shelley worked at Williams-Sonoma, Smith & Hawken and Visa USA. Shelley holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University and Masters in Business Administration from University of California at Berkeley.

Alex Dayon

Alex Dayon is president of Salesforce’s products. Dayon, who holds several patents, is focused around creating business value out of technology disruption.

Dayon joined Salesforce in 2008 through the acquisition of InStranet, a leading knowledge-base company where he was a founder and served as its CEO. Prior to InStranet, Dayon was a founding member of Business Objects SA where he led the product group for more than 10 years.

Dayon holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité (SUPELEC) in France.

Rob Garf

VP of Industry Strategy and Insights, Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Rob Garf is VP of Industry Strategy and Insights and the Chair of the Client Advisory Board at Salesforce Commerce Cloud. With 25 years of global retail experience as a practitioner (Lids, Marshalls, Hit or Miss), an industry analyst (AMR Research), a strategy consultant (IBM), and a software leader (Demandware/Salesforce), he is no stranger to the industry and the challenges retailers face. He currently guides product strategy, develops industry research, and advises senior executives globally on unified commerce strategies. Rob is also a frequent industry speaker and a member of NRF’s Digital Council.

Rohit Goyal

Rohit is Senior Vice President of Product for the Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Demandware. Before Demandware, Rohit co-founded neoSaej Corp. which developed patented technology for the personal finance and e-commerce verticals. Rohit has also held engineering leadership roles building mission critical systems in the telecom and networking industry. He is the co-inventor on six patents and he holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Denison University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Tom Griffin

Tom is Chief Operating Officer of Salesforce Commerce Cloud, where is responsible for leading strategy and coordination of all field activities for the Commerce Cloud. Tom joined Demandware in 2006 and served most recently as Demandware’s SVP of Corporate Development. A 15+ year veteran of the Retail and Commerce industries, Tom’s previously roles include Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Sterling Commerce (now IBM) and Vice President of Business Development for Yantra. Tom holds a B.A. in History from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.B.A. from Boston University.​

Kathie Johnson

Kathie is Vice President of Marketing at Salesforce Commerce Cloud, the World’s #1 Enterprise Cloud Commerce Platform. Immediately prior to Commerce Cloud, she held various executive positions at Dassault Systèmes, a global 3D software company. Kathie received her MBA in International Business and Marketing from Babson College and her BA in English from the University of Michigan. Kathie’s work has been recognized through both domestic and international awards, including the European Excellence Award, Communicator Award and Telly Award. She is on the Board of Habitat for Humanity Greater Lowell, a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen families and communities through affordable homeownership opportunities and she is co-chair of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Counsel Sales & Marketing Cluster, the region’s leading technology association. Bethany Kemp

Bethany Kemp is Vice President of Technology and Information Systems at Design Within Reach. She has risen through the ranks at Design Within Reach, starting in the call center in 2001 and continuing with a series of promotions from IT systems manager to Vice President of operations and finally to her present position as Vice President of Technology and Information Systems. Kemp is responsible for defining and implementing the systems and technology strategy, business intelligence, user training, and IT support for all areas of the business. She holds BA degrees from UT Austin in Psychology and Japanese.

Chris Ladd

Chris Ladd, EVP, Global Consumer Experience, joined the New Balance team in 2013.  He is responsible for all front-end global consumer engagement with the brand including; Marketing, Retail, eCommerce, and Omni Channel.  Under Ladd, New Balance recently created a new business unit called Digital Sport to focus on the next generation of consumer experiences, products and innovation.

Prior to joining New Balance, Ladd was in executive positions at The Finish Line, Lululemon Athletica and Crocs, Inc.  He has more than 20 years of eCommerce, Digital Marketing and Retail experience with the global consumer. Ladd holds a M.A. in Sports Management and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Connecticut at Storrs.

Ladd is a passionate athlete and cyclist and father of two. He has been a featured speaker at many industry events including Shop.org, Internet Retailer and the Global E-Commerce Summit.

Beth McCormick

VP of Commerce and Customer Engagement Technology, PetSmart

Beth McCormick joined PetSmart in 2014 and currently serves as VP of Commerce and Customer Engagement Technology.  Her responsibilities include technology delivery and development teams supporting all customer touchpoints (eCommerce, Mobile, Marketing, Stores and Services). During her tenure at PetSmart, she has driven major IT transformational change and delivered significant technology capabilities which include the launch of a new web platform and new order management system. Beth was recognized in 2017 as one of the “Top Ten Women in Retail Tech” by Chain StoreAge magazine.  Prior to PetSmart, Beth spent more than 14 years at American Eagle Outfitters in Pittsburgh, PA, where she held a variety of IT leadership positions delivering technology for the multi-brand, international retailer. Beth earned her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.  She is a proud pet parent of Maxx, a Cavachon.

Kathryn Murphy

Kathryn leads the product management teams for Commerce Cloud across Digital, Store, OMS and Predictive. Commerce Cloud is a Saas platform that uniquely provides retailers with fast innovation, scale and reliability and unified commerce – the new holy grail for retailers. Kathryn has twenty years of retail technology and solutions experience with numerous retail chains, which she brings to bear on new, intuitive, intelligent approaches to traditional retail.​

Rama Ramakrishnan

Senior Vice President of Data Science, Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Rama was named the Senior VP of Data Science for the Salesforce Commerce Cloud in July of 2016 following the acquisition of Demandware by Salesforce. Rama had served as Demandware's Chief Data Scientist since the acquisition of CQuotient, a next generation cloud-based personalization provider,​ in October 2014. Rama had founded CQuotient in July 2010 and had served as its Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to CQuotient, Rama taught data science in the MBA program at MIT Sloan School of Management. Before MIT Sloan, Rama served as Chief Scientist and Vice President of Product Development for Analytics Products in the Retail Global Business Unit of Oracle Corporation. Prior to joining Oracle, he was Chief Scientist and Vice President of Research and Development at price optimization software firm ProfitLogic from 2003 until it was acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2005. Earlier in his career, Rama was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Rama holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras as well as an M.S. and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

James Rhee

James Rhee
Executive Chairman & CEO, Ashley Stewart

Mr. Rhee is an impact-focused entrepreneur, investor, operator and educator. As both CEO and investment firm founder, Mr. Rhee has generated market-leading returns by creating bespoke capital and operational solutions through the contemporaneous application of algorithmic, technologic and cultural change.  He has a uniquely diverse network and knowledge base spanning the private equity, retail/consumer, venture and media/technology communities. At Ashley Stewart, as Chairman and CEO, Mr. Rhee has authored and executed upon an innovative complement of CRM, digital and organizational changes that have transformed a twice bankrupt, unprofitable brick-and-mortar retailer with decades of operating losses into an industry leader founded upon a values-based, social commerce paradigm.  FirePine Group, the investment firm he founded in 2009, has successfully fueled transformative change in multiple enterprises, including Ashley Stewart.

Prior to this, Mr. Rhee was a senior investment professional at two leading, Boston-based investment firms, one specializing in growth and the other focused on distress.  Mr. Rhee has played a leadership role in multiple platforms, including the carve-out of the Meow Mix brand from Ralston Purina, the purchase and then turnaround of Murray's Discount Auto Stores from a bank group, the growth catalyst investment in Mattress Firm and the turnaround of Ultra Diamonds.

Mr. Rhee is a visiting lecturer at Duke Law School and teaches frequently at leading educational institutions and professional organizations across the country. He is a regional winner of the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the recipient of one of five 2016 Power Player Awards granted by the National Retail Federation.  In 2017, he joined the board of the National Retail Federation.

Mr. Rhee received his AB with honors from Harvard College and his JD with honors from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.  He lives outside Boston with his wife and three daughters.  He is a former high school teacher.

Sascha R. Rowold

Jennifer Wong

Jennifer Wong is the President and COO of Aritzia, an innovative design house and women’s fashion retailer. She has executive oversight of support functions including human resources, finance, information technology, legal, supply chain, employee experience, communications, and loss prevention.

Ms. Wong embodies Aritzia’s culture, championing our business and leadership philosophies. She served as an executive sponsor to several successful strategic initiatives, most notably, the launch of Aritzia’s eCommerce business (2012), implementation of an enterprise resource planning system (2008), distribution centre relocation (2008) and Aritzia’s U.S. expansion (2007). Prior to her current role, Ms. Wong was named Aritzia’s Chief Operating Officer in 2007 where she created and led the executive committee as its chair.

Ms. Wong began her tenure at Aritzia in 1987 as a part-time sales associate. She was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 (2008). Ms. Wong earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
